“Cute little Beach Style hut”
Reviewed 21 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Our stay at the Bakehouse was lovely, was just not long enough.
It was very clean and everything you would want for 2 people. Bedroom is just lovely, sitting a little higher than rest of the house. Bedding and towels provided all matched so TLC had been applied with thought behind the rental.
Would say only a couple of things negative, first being the opening picture of a beach house, this is not the Bakehouse although it gives the impression of it, that said the property is excellent and you wont be disappointed. The property has a patio area with a table and chairs, but the table/chairs where in desperate need of painting, only a little gripe but the rest of property is immaculate so this stands out. Also no wash up liquid, More than happy to keep property clean but don't think I should have to buy cleaning products.
That said I would be happy to stay here again. Just a 10 min walk to beach, shops a few mins away, A large selection of cafes/restaurants nearby. A beautiful sea front walk to Herne Bay (approx. 2 hrs walking) but regular buses and trains.
Correspondence with the owner is excellent. Deposit returned within a few days.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back. Not sure why the washing up liquid was missing and apologise for this. We are aware the furniture on the decking needs some TLC as the weather has taken its toll and it will be dealt with at the end of the season. With regard to the picture of the beachhut and sunset I personally love the picture and it's there purely for this reason. The description clearly states that it is a short walk to the beach this is not there to mislead anyone.thank you again

The Bakehouse is the perfect place to stay in when visiting Whitstable. It comes fully fitted with everything you could need, and is in an excellent location. There is a delightful sundeck outside with table and chairs, and despite its central location there are no noisy neighbours. I would highly recommend it.

“Ideal location to visit Whitstable by foot.”
Reviewed 10 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Hidden gem behind Champs bakery. Had a lovely few days visiting area for first time. Ideal for walking as in middle of town and excellent restaurants within walking distance. Clean modern well equipped accommodation. Nice touch with fresh flowers.

“Peaceful coastal retreat”
Reviewed 6 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Great central position but still secluded and quiet, a nice little place to come and relax.
There is parking in and around the town but it can be difficult at times to find a place, best to park up when you get there and use public transport to get around.which are frequent and easy to use.
Would also recommend Champs bakery just round the corner for the breakfast bap very nice !

“Fantastic little bolt hole”
Reviewed 22 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

What a find, immaculate little studio hidden away behind the shops and a short walk to the seafront, main shopping street. Looks just like the pictures, has everything we needed in terms of amenities, kitchen equipment. We had lovely weather so enjoyed the decking area with a few drinks, the only noise was from the seagulls.

Local bakery, co-op and takeaways on the doorstep or wander down to the town and try the excellent local restaurants. Whitstable itself is very much an olde worlde seaside town with lots of bespoke shops and antique / vintage shops as well as craft and local produce sellers. Castle has beautiful ground and do a mean cooked breakfast. We sat on Marine drive above the beach huts watching the world go by and the distant Maunsell Forts. We had no trouble parking down the road opposite but I can imagine this is more problematic if you arrive on a busy Saturday. Once parked though everything is within walking distance, so we didn't go back to the car until we checked out. We had a fantastic weekend and would recommend Whitstable and The Bakehouse as a great location and place to stay.
