“Lovely comfortable homely property”

Hideaway is a fantastic detached property within easy walking distance of the beach and only a short walk into Whitstable centre. We stayed (a group of 7 adults between 25 and 30) for a weekend at the beginning of July and were very lucky with the weather, seeing as it’s been so horrendous recently! Whitstable seems to have its own micro-climate.

The house is very spacious, much large than it looks from the outside and the photos, we didn’t feel cramp at all even with 7 of us. There is a large conservatory with table and chairs that easily seated the 7 of us, we spent a fair amount of our time here.

Beds were extremely comfy and the whole place felt very homely so you soon settle in. The property was very clean on arrival with the beds nicely made, all the rooms have plenty of storage and hooks.

I would definitely recommend this property to anyone that wants a relaxed, comfortable, homely place to stay.

“Light, airy detached with sea views, excellent parking opposite excellent restaurant/pub.”

Hideaway has brilliant parking, is detached and has fabulous sea views. There is a walkway leading down to the beach a short distance from the property. We enjoyed daily walks along the beach into Whitstable and the seaviews were enchanting and constantly changing. We had no need to use the car for the entire stay of one week and used the bus to visit Canterbury on one occasion. This was a pleasurable trip.
The house is spacious, bright and light - much larger than photos suggest - and two bathrooms plus another ensuite WC & basin, make this ideal for larger groups of friends, couples or families. Three couples could meet up and enjoy their own privacy, easily.
The property is well equipped with plenty of decorative hooks around which are sturdy and ideal for hanging incidental items such as clothes, bags, housecoats etc. Good storage space, too. Plenty of outside seating/dining space.
Conveniently placed for local shops, restaurant/pub, bus stop and walks - we would recommend highly, and are taking a second holiday at another rental from the same owners.
Lots of information in the property and useful handwritten notes add to the personal touches. Wifi availability was essential for me, so Hideaway scored again.

“Nice place”

The house was really tidy and fairly well equipped.

We were a group of friends, and we found the place great for what we wanted. Very tidy, nice furnishings etc, some board games and videos and that for when it rains.

About a five-ten minute walk from town, and a nice stroll in along the beach.

The only negative was the slightly over-the-top instructions (turn this off, make sure you have correctly done this) from the owner which made you feel like you were house-sitting rather than renting a guest house, but overall she was nice and accommodating and we had a great time!

PS Whitstable is lovely - not ruined by chain stores on every corner, although that's probably only a matter of time.
