Stayed for a couple of weeks at this hotel. The property is right onto the high street and hence everything is accessible. You get a good number of joints to eat around the hotel and the in house bar serves great food as well. The English breakfast served in the morning is too good :)
The rooms are also neat and clean though walking around the corridors does creates some sounds since its all wood !

My wife and I stayed here for one night during the Hop Farm Festival weekend - No roughing it for us in sleeping bags and tents.

As it was festival weekend the prices were extortionate but it was a special treat and unfortunately it is to be expected. So for this review I will forget the cost and just review the hotel itself.

The hotel itself is in a great location in Tonbridge and looks like an old coaching inn so it is all low ceilings with oak beams and uneven floors but it has plenty of olde worlde character.

The parking is around the back and there seems to be an annexe which to be honest looked like a bad 70's building and we hoped we weren't staying in there.

The receptionist was very friendly and advised us we were in room 21 in the main building. So up a couple of flights of wobbly stairs we entered a large and nicely decorated room.

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and the bathroom, which was also very large and well decorated. Overall a very nice room.

The bed was big and very comfy and there was tea and coffee facilities - all fine by me.

My wife, however, has higher standards and she was rather disappointed by the cleanliness of the room. She was right it looked like the corners of the room hadn't been hoovered and there was thick dust in places.

We didn't eat in the hotel so I can't comment on the quality of the food and we skipped the breakfast as it was extortionate at over £10 each so we popped down the road to a great cafe called Jenny's (see review) and had a brilliant full English for half the price.

Overall we had a great stay and I'd be happy to revisit the Rose & Crown but hopefully for a cheaper price next time

Room Tip: Skip the breakfast and gotto Jenny's five minutes down the road

Just here for one night before heading up to Bedford.
Ample secure parking to the rear of the hotel (free to residents) and a simple check in. Room was lovely and clean and had free wi-fi with a good strong signal.
Very nice food, even though a couple of my choices were "off the menu"
Good quality breakfast in the morning with a good number of options.
Would definitely return

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Rose and Crown in Tonbridge as we were attending a wedding in the area. We stayed in room 45 which is out the back of the hotel, it was nice as it was off the main road so it was very quite. We had a nice view out the window into their "Rose Garden" it did look like they were working on it and there was a bike propped up outside our window. There is a good selection of food and drink on the high street within walking distance of the hotel. The castle on Tonbridge was right across the street as well.

My only somewhat complain was that a friend of ours was checking in after us and had to wait about 20 minutes before anyone came to reception. We had tried dinging the bell on the desk but no one seemed to appear. Eventually we had to go find someone working in the bar and get them to find a receptionist.

Overall the hotel was nice, the room was spacious and clean enough. I did notice however, that we hung our towels up on the towel bar as we were happy to re-use them but the hotel replaced them regardless. It is a nice luxury in a hotel to have clean towels each day but it is really unnecessary and many hotels now don't change them out unless you put them in the bath. It was a very average hotel which is fine as it was averagely priced as well.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room in the back, our friend had a front facing room & the windows didn't...
