The other reviews tell you all about the place. It's wonderful, quirky and friendly and homely all in one. That's three reasons to visit just there. The dining room is lovely and all the china just right for the occasion.
This was our first time with their afternoon tea and I'm afraid it was disappointing. Sandwiches were unimaginative and practically doorsteps. Huge scones were difficult to get to grips with, two smaller ones would have been better. They came with double cream not clotted cream. The cakes looked really dull, were just sponge without fillings or toppings, I don't think any of our party ate one. That all said we all had a lovely time and felt that the tea was value for money. Other local posh tea places locally are about twice the price. For ourselves, we'd happily have paid double for the full tea experience but can't faut what we got for the price. Maybe they could offer a special 'champagne' tea with all the trimmings - then again maybe there is no thirst for this in Margate.
