A one night stay OK the car park was a bit hard to find as you have to drive down the service lane of waitrose carpark to get to it, the room was great loads of coffee and tea ect, the shower is not great but will be fixed, but not a problem. We eat there in the evening food was great, and good mix of beer and ciders, the free breakfast which comes with the room was extremely good, full English and cereal coffee juice, if you are exploring that area of Kent it's worth a night or two stay or just a pint and some food...we will be back

We stayed two nights in a family room which was a little dated and fairly basic. However the staff were friendly and attentive and the breakfast was excellent. It can be a little noisy at night but we were in party mood so it did not bother us but others complained of a lack of sleep.

Overall very good value for money!

Busy old world listed pub right on the high street with lots of original features and free parking.

Room was well appointed; tea, coffee, toiletries and plenty of hot water. Decoration was a bit tired, though the new landlord is working on this.

The breakfast, included in the very reasonable price, was very good. The “small” Full English isn’t small at all.

You need to appreciate that this is a busy pub with rooms so there is noise until closing time, which didn’t matter to us as we were back late anyway.

The car park is accessed round the back by going down the side of Waitrose; check out Google Maps satellite view.

With friends for the day at Lingfield Races. Lovely old coaching inn, plenty of character. Greeted upon arrival, rooms ready and clean. Returned from Races about 10 pm, drink in the bar sat on comfy sofas listening to the live entertainment, a loan female singer, really enjoyable. Good nights sleep, down for a great breakfast, upgraded to almost double size of £2, yes only £2!!. Great value, good service, friendly locals, couldn't ask for the money, would certainly go back.

Stayed 2 nights. Room was adequate and clean and cooked breakfast was nice (but served on plastic type plates). Free parking (access via main entrance to the Waitrose car park btw) and breakfast included in price. So reasonably priced.

Staff we encountered were friendly, chap shown us to our room, also advised where to go in case of fire. Room was fairly good size; memory foam mattress and feather type pillows. Décor in reasonable condition. Clean shower (quite powerful), toilet and large towels. Iron and hangers available. Usual tea and coffee on a tray and cooked breakfast (partner) was good.

Just bear in mind that this is a NOISY pub where (summer months) punters sit outside on the benches right outside and under the rooms and are LOUD and with no consideration past a certain time. Me and my partner didn't get to sleep until gone 1am on Saturday morning and I had to ask people to shut up as my patience was lost. Saturday evening was quiet from around 11.30pm. We both came away very sleep deprived and tired.

Suggested improvements (as I like to be constructive in my criticisms)
1. Communication amongst the staff in relation to breakfast timings on a weekend Only until we looked on the back of our bedroom door did the correct timings were advised. Told 7am but actually 8.30 on weekend.
2. Sat morning at 7.30. [obviously no one around apart from the cleaners]. One look at the dried up coffee in the canister by the water urn (hmm) ... I had to pass on. Management!!! Buy a coffee pot for fresh filter coffee or one of the tea/coffee machines rather than having a water urn and tea and instant coffee* and sugar* in plastic containers. *Not hygienic guys! To say that the staff had costa coffee take out to me says it all!
3. Have a notice on arrival where to check in somewhere as I headed for the area which looked like a check in desk but wasn't and actually checked in at the bar. Perhaps have a separate section at the bar for this.
4, suggest a sign should go up for pub customers to be considerate of the hotel guests
5. I did express our experience and my opinions on check out about noise etc and impression I got was pub guests first accommodation guest don't matter. Either have a hotel and pub or just a pub.

There is a lot of room for improvement here on the accommodation side for guests. Unfortunately this is one hotel/inn we will not be returning to nor recommending.

Room Tip: We had room 4.
