Owner description: We are Deal's Micropub. Started in December 2011 we are now firmly part of the Deal community. We specialise in real ales from microbreweries across the UK and have a constantly changing menu. Beers are kept in a temperature controlled room, served directly from the cask and brought to you. We also sell: real ciders; a selection of wines and soft drinks; a limited range of snacks including Kentish cheese; Kent crisps and pork pies from a local, award winning butcher. We do not sell lager or spirits nor do we have piped music or television. Mobile phones can be used to access the internet but a ringing phone results in a fine (money going to the Pilgrims Hospice). We offer a friendly and unique venue in Deal and hope to see you soon.

I first went to the Just Reproach two years back, and to my mind its possibly the best establishment I've been in.
The owners/staff are great - its almost like popping around to their house for a glass of sherry, such is their demeanour and general atmosphere
The ales are second to none, (it may be a false memory, but I'm darn sure that use of mobiles is frowned upon - but as I say, this may not be the case) and the seating arrangement demands that one speaks to one's neighbours/fellow drinkers (remember the days when this was the norm?) - who are obviously kindred spirits, such is the nature of the Just Reproach.
We're having a weekend in Deal next week end , staying in a place just around the corner from there - its a darn shame there isn't an equivalent here in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Another great micro-pub in kent. Visited on Saturday evening and it was full, with a great atmosphere. The staff and customers could not be more friendly. Well kept beer in a pleasant environment.

Cask ales, great choice, best temperatures and staff who can advise on the best choice for you. No phones, no music, no TV. Great conversation piece! Easy talking, sweet walking company. Love it.

An amazing find and the highlight of our weekend in Deal. We walked in as strangers but were immediately welcomed by staff and regulars, thoroughly enjoying the banters and varied conversation. Good choice of local beer and can highly recommend the spiced cider. Variety of gin and non-alcoholic choices also offered. Pork pies and local cheese available if you get the munchies and the pickled onions made by a regular are superb. Great value too!
I haven't been in many micro pubs but this was certainly full of character, no phones and lots of choice. Highly recommended as a must-go place in Deal.

Quite honestly this is an absolute gem of a boozer. My wife and I moved back to the area in 2014 and in this smashing place we found an instant home. The antithesis of chain pub unpleasantness. It's a bit titchy and so you'll end up sitting next to all sorts. Being Deal this could be absolutely anyone (A couple of years ago we ended up sitting near the pythonesque Terry Jones ) *Funny and quirky* doesn't even begin to describe it. Mark and Bron have produced a monster. Look out for *Dave Shorts* *Check your Change Dave* *French Dave* and others who are not called Dave. Sit with Michael at your peril. Roast potatoes on Sundays, regular Cheese afternoons, a cracking (constantly changing) array of local beer cider and wines. If you buy one of the pork pies don't forget to ask for the pickles (supplied by regulars and all the loot goes to local charities). Quite simply this is one of the nicest places that you could ever visit. Deal has received a rather well deserved upturn in visitors of late. Start here.
