This is a small and friendly local museum and they have included another new area on Dunkirk and the tremendous rescue mission. There is much to see, you can take photographs, and they have made excellent use of limited space. The lady who welcomed us was friendly and informative and proud of Deal and its local history from the maritime connections, to the neighbouring cold fields and the home of the Royal Marines School of Music.

The gentleman who greeted us was very informative. There is lots of stuff to see for such a tiny museum. It is all things that have been donated to the museum. There is also some video footage to watch. You must go and visit if you are visiting deal, it would be a shame to miss it !!!!!
The kids enjoyed some of it. us adults had more of an interest. but still worth the visit. Thankyou!

We visited the Deal Maritime Museum last week and were so impressed by our friendly and informative guide. We were allowed to touch selected items from the collection, heard fascinating stories about the Goodwin Sands shipwrecks, the Deal contribution to the Dunkirk evacuation, and much more. I recommend it to anyone with a love of maritime history, or just a love of history full stop. Lisa and Ed, Cambridge

If it wasn't for the 'wheels of time' initiative I don't even think I would have known about this place! It is a very small museum and won't take long to get around, but this is reflected in the price.

The quiz sheet made it even more interesting for my daughter who enjoyed hunting around for different things. Then to top it all off she was allowed to sound the fog horn before she left!! Wow that's loud in a small confined space!
