“Stunning views of the sea, spacious flat”
Reviewed 4 July 2017 for a stay in May 2017

One could not ask for a better holiday accommodation. Alan provides a comfortable and nicely appointed 2nd storey flat overlooking Walmer green, the golden shingle beach, and the English Channel, with views of the French coast on clear afternoons. We never tired of the views out three windows of the ever-changing sea and sky. One just feels healthier breathing in the sea air high above the town bustle. The flat is easy to maintain and within walking distance of all amenities. We particularly liked the two good fish and chips shops and bakery on The Strand, and we loved strolling the Deal High Street, where one can purchase practically anything! A great benefit of this flat's position is that most community events take place on Walmer Green, and one can choose either to watch or to participate. A wonderful feature of this seafront is the miles-long paved walking path with adjacent cycling path. A lone caveat: If you cannot walk well, you will have difficulty with the four flights of stairs. Worthy of mention is The Lighthouse pub just next door; it can get noisy, but the 2 double-glazed windows shut out virtually all noise if necessary. Or you can head downstairs and join in the fun! Altogether an unforgettable stay!
