“Home from Home (You do not need a car)”
Reviewed 22 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Second time we have stayed in a chalet at Bramble Chine, and this one also gets a big thumbs up. This time our view was even more amazing. What a sunset. Keys to chalet are located on a key safe on wall outside, owner tells you the code before you arrive. The chalet itself was very clean. Having tiled flooring throughout is a very good idea. The bathroom was well presented, and the shower was great. Towels and bed linen provided. The double bed was very comfortable, had a great sleep. The single beds in the other room look very nice too. Liked the way the shelving in each bedroom was set out. The kitchen was very well equipped. Like that there was a separate fridge and freezer. The lounge and kitchen are combined but there is enough space to move around. There is a 3 seater sofa, one chair, and dining table and chairs. Tables and chairs also seated outside the property. The chalet also has central heating. Can get a bit chilly at night sometimes. There is a shop on site that sells milk, bread, newspapers etc.

The owners were brilliant and stayed in contact right up until we arrived. I am recovering from a major operation and they made sure there was sunbeds on site in case I couldn't get to the beach (Colwell Bay) which is a 5 min walk. Beach is lovely. You can walk right along towards the beach huts and you'll find a cafe there that is cheap.

The location is excellent, and you don't need to drive to stay there. We always get a 7 day rover ticket for £24. You get the no.7 from Yarmouth (going towards Alum Bay), and it's 10-15mins drive from there to Brambles Corner, which is on Colwell Road. Cross over the road and walk down towards Brambles farm, follow the path (say hello to the cows and horses) and walk as far as you can go (5mins), and you'll see the sea coming into view, and a grass bank to your right. Walk up there and the chalets come into sight. 179 is in the fourth row of chalets. Also note that you can catch the island breezer bus to the stop also. We caught one into Yarmouth which is an even quicker route into Yarmouth. It's so easy to get around the island by bus. And the drivers are so friendly and helpful. On route by bus to the chalet you will see a large Costcutters to your left, and then further up a small Sainsburys. If you do want to do a larger shop you can get the no.7 all the way into Newport, which is the centre of the island and has all the shops you need including a large Morrisons. Any help you need with buses, there is a customer help desk where you can grab all the bus timetables you need. Or you can download from their website http://www.islandbuses.info/

Really can't fault this holiday, really helped with my recovery. Weather wasn't as good as last time but we did so much sightseeing. Godshill Model Village is a must see (no.7 to newport, and then no.2 to Godshill) Freshwater Bay is beautiful, especially when the tide is out. You can walk into the caves with the help of a local guide that knows the tides. We even went crabbing in Yarmouth. A visit to Shanklin also... no.7 to Newport, then no. 2 to Shanklin. Easy to find the beach which is lovely. Shanklin Chine is just along the beach front, worth a visit.

Eating out we tried 'On the Rocks' in Yarmouth. Unlimited fries and salad.. and your meat or fish is brought to you on a volcanic plate which cooks as you eat.. so you cook your steak exactly how you like it. Worth a try. Butterflies also do lovely tea and cake. (yarmouth) Had Sunday lunch in The Bugle Coaching Inn also in Yarmouth which was nice. We did get confused as we thought it was two different pubs beside each other. There was a lovely little cafe right next to the harbour.. can't remember the name but there's a board out side saying they do tea, coffee for £1, they do the a lovely bacon roll. Rainbow Fish Bar (Freshwater), a few stops away from Brambles Chine is also very nice. It really is a lovely place to visit.

All in all it was a great holiday, can't wait to go back. Thanks again Ernie & Trix for a wonderful stay at your chalet.

“Beautifully kept property in a beautiful location”
Reviewed 2 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

The bungalow is beautifully situated with a view over the Solent to Hurst Castle. You can see the Needles from just outside the property. It's a 5 minute walk down on to Colwell beach; there's a small play area for kids and lots of space for running around. The site was quiet when we visited. The lane to get to the site is in a fairly awful state (even for the IOW!).
The bungalow is clean, well maintained and well provisioned (with plastic plates for kids). The living area is large enough for some to relax, others to sit at the dining table and others to cook. The bathroom is well done up (and the shower is lovely!). The bedrooms are small with adequate storage space. We were grateful to Trix for arranging for a cot to be in the twin room (the cot had to be moved to open/close the door). All towels and linen are provided.
We had a fantastic time and will be back!

“Perfect accommodation for a perfect price.”
Reviewed 3 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We stayed here for 3 nights break and were very impressed with the bungalow and its location, especially considering the very reasonable rates. The beautiful new bathroom has the best shower ever! The place was spotlessly clean, had everything you needed and the views were amazing. Would recommend to anyone wanting a holiday in the wonderful IOW.

“Very good self catering accommodation”
Reviewed 17 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Faultless accommodation, very clean, comfortable, mod-cons, excellent decor and compact. Everything thats required for the perfect self accommodation holiday. Wonderful views of Hurst castle and The Needles, plus stunning sunsets. Only a 3 minute walk to the beach. Only negatives - long pot holed unadopted drive to Brambles Chine and appearance around the shop/clubhouse

“Comfortably compact with everything you need for a great stay”
Reviewed 2 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Although chalets are small, this property accommodated our family of 2 adults and 2 children (13 & 10) very comfortably. The heating system provided instant hot water as well as running the three radiators, each with its own thermostat. The kitchen was well equipped, the bathroom was modern with a bath and shower over. The seating in the lounge area was very comfortable and the dining table big enough for the four of us. The double-bed almost filled the bedroom and it was a bit of a squeeze to get round the far side but it was not a problem for us: the other bedroom had two wide single beds and there was ample room for these. There are wardrobe units for hanging clothes in both bedrooms.

The view of Hurst Castle and light house is stunning and a short walk of about twenty paces takes you to the fence at the cliff top from where you can see the Needles in all their majesty.

The road to the park is a private road and is in a pretty poor state so we had to skirt the pot holes and drive at no more than 5mph. The park itself was quiet with open spaces and a large field for children to play.

We had a very good holiday here and would like to return in the future.
