My sister and I took 2 of our grand chlidren here yesterday , Very wet as it was the first day of the easter Hols that was sunny and not raining. Wellies needed today , The play area is great for the kids , plenty of open safe space to let them zoom about on their scooters. The walks are amazing , we saw the prettiest cows and horses. We had a lunch here and we were blown away by the food. The boys wanted kids boxes, usually dried up sammies but oh no not here , fresh and crusts cut off , also had extra choices as to what you wanted , a good selection .Lyn and i opted for a dish that was layered chips, battered chicken breast hunters chicken dish. under £6 ... Be warned it is huge ! deffo could have shared one. tasted lovely :) The staff are friendly and happy to help. Long que for ice creams but deffo worth the wait . Parking was £3.70 for the whole day . A real lovely place where everyone seemed to be happy and cheerful. Defo come again . Enjoy

Been bringing the kids here for a few years now as the park and surrounding open space and woodland walks are so lovely, and the parking is very reasonable too!! It's beautiful. The cafe however is not so lovely. It's not the price of food and drink - that's quite good value to be fair! Iit's the run-down image of the place and general cleanliness. It's quite frankly filthy! Tables full of stains and crumbs as are the sofas. I totally get that it is in the centre of a woodland area with a park that it attracts families with muddy boots etc and must be hard to keep on top of at times, but to run a mop round the place every now and then is general hygiene and cleanliness, as is attempting to have a general clear up of the picnic tables outside. The cafe was fairly recently taken over by new management I understand, but in my opinion it's gone downhill and nothing has been done to freshen up the very tired and worn out looking interior and exterior. Shame really because the place has so much potential.

Lovely walk through the trees, not too far if you take the shorter walk & are tight for time. rest for a cuppa in the cafe on your way back to the car.
The play are for children keeps them amused for hours.

We had a lovely hour and a half morning walk around Avon Heath with our dog. We kept her off lead for most of the walk and it was a beautiful area. Well worth a visit!

Holidaying in the area, we revisited an old haunt from many years ago when my now husband lived in Dorset. Including the spaniel, we were a mixed party of eight. We followed the Purple Walk, and saw beautiful countryside and only a few people. We were out for a couple of hours, the dog had an absolute ball off-lead, and felt we had all had a good time, despite the drizzle. On returning to the car park, the youngest played on the zip-wire and made friends while my husband went to Starbucks (five minutes away) as the cafe was closed. We all drank our coffee under the cafe awning and plotted to see if we could return before the holiday is over. Toilets were open, and bowls of water for dogs were available. A decent Boxing Day morning despite the rain.
