A very lucky find, the welcome was by Marcus was very friendly.
I chose to stay in Bolderwood room, a perfect size, although I was travelling alone, so therefore bigger than I required, this room would be perfect for two, or even if travelling with one child.
A very high standard of cleanliness.
Petherton Cottage is set just off a main road, but has woods and lovely gardens all around the back, which is where the four rooms are situated.
This location is perfect for access to Bournemouth Airport

Room Tip: If you want a bit larger room choose Bolderwood

Marcus gave me a very warm and informative welcome. My room contained a comfortable double bed and was fine for one person but would be cramped for two, as Marcus himself pointed out. Everything was clean and newish ( the family refurbished the place two years ago ), especially the linen.
I have a few reservations:
While the scrambled eggs were outstanding, I thought the choice on the first course buffet was limited ( e.g. the fruit ). Horton Road is surprisingly busy, though I did not hear traffic noise during the night. Marcus was a very thoughtful and helpful host, but I would prefer not to be greeted by bare feet in flip-flops!
But the good certainly prevails, and the only reason for not returning is that dogs are not welcome.

Fantastic place to stay, welcoming, friendly and has everyone you need.

Breakfast was fresh and very tasty.

Would stay here again if I am in the area and will recommend to anyone.

This B&B was such a great find !! It's contemporary without loosing its authenticity. The hospitality from Marcus was so warm genuine and friendly that immediately, on arrival, we felt comfortable and homely there. Spotlessly clean and tidy with quality products in the rooms, the bathroom and natural calming decor throughout.
Excellent breakfast - and with loose leaf tea as standard.... what more more can I say :-)
It's so obvious that a lot of love has been invested in this B&B and, as a result of this , a heart warming atmosphere has been created at Pertherton Cottage.
We'll definitely be going back.

We had a warm welcome, all accommodation on ground floor. Large double room with ensuite, fridge, microwave which would be useful if trying to mainly self cater.Marcus kindly booked us into local pub for dinner. If I was a hotel inspector I would say that a little more dusting would notice. My friends all enjoyed their stay, I was disappointed at breakfast time, which was unfortunate.
