I have just spent a wonderful week with my family in Halfway House in Blockley, the house is very well equipped, tastefully decorated and provides plenty of room. Blockley is also a great choice, pretty, quiet, great walks, friendly locals, good café and the Great Western Arms is a really good pub.
A beautiful house, situated right in the heart of this lovely village, you will enjoy beautiful views along the historic High St. Sit on one of the upstairs window seats and watch the world go by. The owners have furnished the property with great sympathetic consideration to the age of house, and with top end furniture & soft furnishings. The kitchen and bathrooms are all first class and very well equipped. Beds are extremely comfy (there were even a couple of memory foam pillows if you so wish!) It seems just about everything has been thought of; find a rug in the box in the living room, or logs at the side of the fire if you are a bit chilly :)
There are great walks ( or just a stroll) from the door step. Blockley is one of the prettiest Cotswolds villages, being on a no-through road means that it's lovely and pieceful.
NOTES: Please be aware that the garden is very steep, with an iron railing aside the steep, sometimes uneven steps, I would recommend that it's not suitable for young children or the elderly if they intend to use the outdoor dining space.
Also a very minor note is that the seating in the living room seats approx 8 people ( lovely sofas).
And that 2 of the bedrooms do not have wardrobes, the twin in the attic does not have any drawers either. But ample space for everyone's clothes in the massive wardrobe in the the main bedroom!
All in all a really gorgeous house, would definately go back.
