The food is nothing to write home about, but even if it were gourmet, I would still struggle to recommend this place. The dining room is extremely noisy, not helped by the fact that most of walls and roof are glazed, and the tables are packed very closely together. By the time we reached our main course we had to shout at each other to be heard (and this was a Thursday night, I can't imagine how bad it would be on when they're full.

I'm going to start by saying that my daughter is the manager but that has no bearing on this review, she is front of house and this review is on the food. Obviously the service was excellent.
Three of my party had the roast and they were very happy and enjoyed their meals. I'm a Vegan and that sometimes means i end up with a plate of veggies. The Greenman's veggie/vegan menu does only have one vegan option for each starter, main and sweet. But what i was served was one of the best vegan meals I've tasted. So I encourage more vegans to go to the Greenman and then the chef who created the amazing food I had today would hopefully a few more choices.

1  Thank Stephen G

Having visited Galvin La Chapelle previously I was looking forward to the pub incarnation.

First impressions were positive- relaxed food focused pub restaurant. The menu was actually quite a surprise- tight and informal but most surprising was that the prices were more than reasonable, including the wine.

Food was excellent, atmosphere had an air of informality about it that suited the location, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

£250 including service, cocktails and two bottles of wine, three courses, four people. Very good value.
