It was nice, but not a real must. Only thing there is left of the Battle of 1066 is 1 axe head barely complete. Weird garden but hey, it's free and good to start your day in Battle.

Small and very nice museum, with very helpful guides inside. We visited this museum after the Battlefield and the Abbey in Battle, worth a stop!

Every aspect of Battle's history under one roof. People on hand to answer your questions. Lots of historical objects to see and video to watch

The museum is full of interesting objects and the staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. They are happy to answer questions and chat about the local area. The museum and Almonry frequently have events and activities for families. Be sure to check the web site. In August, they usually have birds of prey, and we make a point to go there each year. The gardens there are beautiful and free to wander around in. It is an interesting and peaceful little stop if you are exploring Battle.

Can't seem to keep away from this place. Went in on Battle Christmas shopping night. Staff were really friendly and chatty - loads of information shared about the ruins in the area.

It was rather full, so tricky to look round all of it, but will no doubt be returning again in the next 6 months.
