“Truly beautiful home from home by the sea”
Reviewed 1 June 2016 for a stay in January 2015

My family and I had such a wonderful & memorable stay at Elves Hyde. We celebrated our twins 10th birthday with their friends there. The space and light that this gorgeously renovated home offer is just lovely - plenty of room for children to run and explore, even toys & books laid out for them. There is a lovely wrap garden, great playground a stroll away and the glorious North Norfolk pebbles and sandy beach is just a few minutes walk away, perfect for sandcastle "chase the tide" games, big walks or just grabbing some rare quiet time - just sitting and having the sounds of the sea soothe your soul.

The large roomy bedrooms with their lovely linens and fluffy towels are sooooo comfortable. There is a fabulous shower room and a lovely large pretty bathroom. I rather fell in love with the kitchen that has been very well thought out, everything you would need and more is provided - a large table makes this heart of the home perfect for enjoying meals together even with a big group of all ages. We found the living room a great space too and were delighted that a great range of films and music had also been provided for us. We felt welcomed, cosseted even & had the best time, children and adults alike.

The reviving little seaside town centre is again, only a short walk away and offered us yummy ice cream parlours, some great little shops, the freshest fish & chips ever, funky cafes complete with sea views and binoculars, sweet tea shops and a quite wonderful little theatre - we will definately be back

“A delightful family home full of timeless character !”
Reviewed 27 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

ElvesHyde delivers a family home with a timeless shabby-chic decor that is wonderfully in keeping with this traditional seaside resort. Of course, underneath the period decor, are all the modern day appliances that we all rely on in this day and age but it is just so easy to kick back, relax and drift off into a quieter and more relaxing time.

Having no curtains on the main and very large lounge windows seemed a bit odd at first but it soon became a wonderfully quirky way to enjoy fantastic evening skies and also provided the most vibrant and stirring of mornings ! Loved the old ticking clocks, loved the random shabby-chic pieces that added nice subtle touches to every room and the two DAB radios set to Smooth FM served up the perfect soundtracks when required ...... even found the nearby Cromer to Sheringham railway line with its hourly train quite cute !

Nicely situated just five minutes walk from a 7am-11pm Tesco superstore and no further to Sheringham's main high street with great pubs, great fish and chips and the seafront itself.

A few small niggles made this a 4/5 rather than 5/5 and I will take these up privately with the very helpful owner but the bottom line is that I've been "home" for just 48 hours and I miss ElvesHyde already. I would certainly love to return and can recommend it highly to anybody venturing Sheringham way !

If you need to get away from it all, kick back, relax and recharge the batteries then i would highly recommend Elves Hyde as your place to do this.

The property is extremely well equiped, all the white goods you can dream of, tv, dvd's, books, toys, table football, comfy sofa's, log burner, comfy beds the list goes on and on.

Just a 2 min walk to the sea front and the lovely little town of Sheringham which has a little bit of everything for everyone. 2 min walk to the local tescos and the same to the train station.

Lots of costal walks available over to Cromer or Weybourne.

My wife, son and I look forward to our next stay at this stylish, home from home.

“Fabulous location, comfortable and totally self contained”
Reviewed 14 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We stayed at Elveshyde at February half term and had a wonderful stay. It's spacious, comfortable and warm, has a cosy chic feel but with plenty of room to spread out, which worked well with children. We played hide and seek for over an hour before we ran out of hiding places. It has everything you should want and is ideally located for the beach, shops, steam train, tropical swimming and supermarket. We'll be back soon.

My family and I were so fortunate to have found such a gem of a getaway, covering all the bases of a quality seaside holiday. The bungalow is spacious yet cosy, modern yet traditional. Elveshyde is fully equipped with all one could need. My Wife loved the kitchen so much that she wants to style ours at home just like it (no complaints here) The breathtaking beachfront is a five minute walk away as is the high street which boasts everything from quaint seaside tea shops to hospitable Norfolk pubs. I highly recommend the local fishmonger's catch of the day if you're looking for an impressively fresh tasting supper. The local baker and green grocer offer timeless delights that are much forgotten in busy cities. Ice cream from the hip parlor and goodies from the old fashioned sweet shop kept the kids smiling whilst Mummy and and Daddy could enjoy a latte and cake at the family friendly tea shop. There is a park with a playground two minutes from the property which helped the little ones shake off their last bit of energy after a long day scaling the huge boulders on the beach. The kids fell in love with the place and the location so much that my Wife has already decided we will be revisiting with granny and grandpa this coming springtime.
