The Columbus Park of Roses has an extensive selection of roses, set among beautiful trees in the excellent Whetstone Park. Whetstone Park is in Clintonville, perhaps ten minutes north of Ohio State on High Street.

USA Today has called the garden “one of the largest and most celebrated municipal rose gardens in the United States.”

Whetstone Park would be an excellent place for a jog, and the rose garden is an excellent place for a contemplative walk for those who aren't rose lovers, or for families and friends to take a beautiful stroll.

Be careful about visiting in the morning, when the roses often are sprayed by truck.

There is ample free parking at the rose garden.

After touring the rose garden, an enjoyable stop is Clintonville's Mozart's Bakery and Piano Cafe for a snack at one of the best bakeries in Columbus. Mozart's also has a Vienna Ice Cafe store at the location. Mozart's deluxe ice cream obviously offers a cold relief after a tour of the rose garden on a hot day.

This place is most commonly known as 'The Park Of roses'. This garden is one of the largest public rose gardens in all of the USA, and its FREE! The variety of flowers is amazing, and best of all they are very healthy and well cared for. The walking paths are really simple, its almost impossible to get lost here. I really like the pretty observation deck that over looks the garden. As a garden 'lover' I really enjoyed my time here and plan on going back the next time I'm in Columbus. If you like gardens are in Columbus this is a MUST!

The place as very liberal photography rules, so bring a camera to take flower or family photos!

I'm originally from Columbus, and loved right across High Street from the Park of Roses. Although I've lived on Cape Cod for the past 6 years, I still view the Park of Roses as the most beautiful place anyone could have the pleasure of visiting. Theres just something mystical, almost unreal this place. Its like Columbus's own little heaven. Everyone - people young and old - should go. Itll be well worth it! ((and be sure to check out the metal viweing tower - youll love it!))
