Yes, the building is undergoing renovation - which is a good thing - but building renovations don't impact customer service, and theirs was pretty bad. From our initial phone call to make the reservation, to check in, to trying to get the fitness room key, none of our interactions with staff went smoothly. Our overall impression was that the staff we talked with really weren't that interested in their jobs. I waited for close to 10 minutes at the desk, waiting for someone to show up so I could ask for the key to the fitness room. A young woman in sweatpants with a baby on her hip came through the lobby and asked me, "She ain't here?", then walked out the front door to where she apparently knew the deck clerk could be found, and told her 'You got somebody waitin' in there." After finally getting the key, the treadmill didn't work. On the plus side, the pool looked clean although we didn't use it. The mattress in our room was comfortable, breakfast was standard. We are not generally very hard to please, meaning we aren't looking for a 5-star experience at a hotel/motel, we just want a decent place to stay. But I definitely would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Pick a different hotel/motel.

I am sorry for the time you have to wait for our front desk clerk to assist you. I do allow the front desk clerks a few minutes for restroom breaks or a quick smoke break outside for those that do smoke. They do know that the guest comes before anything else. I did have a conversation with the clerk on duty and other pertaining to this situation so it will not happen again. We are replacing the exercise equipment shortly. They are fully functional. I am sorry that you had an issue with them. I am having my maintenance supervisor look into this concern. Thanks again for your stay.
