We shared Li Wah's dim sum, considered by many as Cleveland's best, and some additional favorite entrees on an early Sunday evening (we took leftovers home) after a Browns game. Li Wah is one of Cleveland's more authentic Chinese restaurants, especially given its location in Cleveland's Asia Plaza. A jewelry and other gift shops, spilling out into the hallway, are located just outside the restaurant's entrance and offers the feeling of a small market. Parking is located in a lot adjacent to the restaurant. If full, another lot is on the north side of the plaza, with still a short walk to Li Wah.

We enjoyed all of the dim sum offerings except the roasted duck, which was bony. The dim sum menu is supplemented by a diverse and extensive menu that includes many vegetarian entrees, including some superb tofu offerings.

The restaurant was busy and service was a little lax as our waitress was overextended.

Asia Plaza is a short drive from downtown, just east of the I-90 Innerbelt, and is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Greater Cleveland, all things considered. It's a quite large restaurant and I've never needed reservations, but perhaps have luckily missed peak periods.

We were visiting Cleveland on the Easter weekend an decided to check out the Chinatown. It's not much really, but we stopped at a Chinese bakery for a snack and asked where to get some good dim sum and were directed to Li Wah.

This place has the carts with the dishes that come past your table so you can decide what you want based on what is going by your table. We got there before the big Sunday lunch crush, and waited briefly for a table to come free. As we ate, we could see a large line-up build.

The items that are available for dim sum are typical of any dim sum place. The items we selected were universally good.

If you are looking for authentic this is the place. If you are looking for something edible, then this is sadly not the place to go. Chicken feet, cow intestines...deliiiicous.
