While in the Queen City for a concert (John Mayer) my soulmate and I stumbled upon this breakfast gem on a Sunday morning. It was packed. In fact the host told us it may be 40 minutes for the two top. Fortunately for us there was a first come first serve breakfast bar that came open just as we arrived. We scooped up the two seats. Our service was wonderful and the food was very good. My soulmate had the recommended omelet special and I just had a simple eggs and sausage platter. We split a buttermilk pancake. The food was warm and tasty. You get a choice of a side and we both chose the potatoes which were excellent. The place even had soy milk for my mate. All the wonderful reviews on this site are spot on from what we observed first hand. We would certainly love to go again someday.

A nice breakfast, lunch place. I stopped at 2:30 in the afternoon after visiting the zoo. They have a large selection of breakfast items, many out of the ordinary. The lunch menu is equally built with a large number of varied sandwiches, bowls, salads, and sides. I had the quinoa/sweet potato bowl which was good. I would have liked more than 6 chunks of sweet potato and a bit less quinoa.

Ate outside on the patio! Beautiful sun filled morning with a refreshing slight breeze. Had the Queen City Bee! It was awesome!. The "nectar sauce": was sooo good. Everything was presented beautifully, and tasted delicious. The goetta was very tasty and was good paired with arugala an egg and apples on a chibatta rolll. The accompanying potaotes had a wondeful garlic tasting sauce, that couldn't have been any better with The Queen City Bee!... and the coffee was excellant.! Great breakfast enjoyed with good friends!,The service was very good, all of the food did not arrive at once, but the servers were polite and, appologetic about the delay. All in all they were attentive and very good! This is a great place!

Looking for a locally owned place to eat breakfast, we found this restaurant through TripAdvisor and were SO HAPPY we stopped there! Tyler, our server, was friendly & attentive. He was particularly sensitive about a tree-nut allergy among our party. The food was excellent! There were plenty of gluten-free, soy-free, and vegan options on the menu. Some of the stand-outs among the food we ordered included:
• "Piggy Pancakes" - buttermilk pancakes with ample bacon in the batter and served with candied pecans and whipped cream
• "Ani Omelette" - omelette which included avocado, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions & white cheddar and served with multigrain toast
• "Blue Bee Pancakes" - blueberry pancakes with honey butter
• "Bumblebee Breakfast" - housemade nuts & seeds granola served over Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and berries

The restaurant had an "upscale" feel with a wide variety of thoughtfully designed and presented bee-related decorations. Prices were more than reasonable for the quality of food and service.

My family and I have very different dietary likes and needs (two vegetarians, four meat eaters, and one nut allergy) and everyone LOVED their meal. Between the six of us we tried three different pancakes (lemon poppyseed special, Blue Bee, and Piggycake) all of which were totally different and very tasty.

Great choices for vegetarians!

Tyler (our waiter) and the rest of the staff at Sleepy Bee were very aware and considerate of the nut allergy in our group.

Overall, a little pricy but well worth it for delicious food.
