Kind atmosphere. Staff eager to answer questions about the local Southern Right Whales and marine life. Lots of activities for kids. A down to earth little museum and centre for people interested in whales, whaling history and protection of whales.

The whale Centre is well set out and very educational. Our children really enjoyed the fossil dig down in the basement.
We all enjoyed the hands on experience offered especially the kids.
Our admission price also included a one way trip on the horse drawn tram across to Granite Island.

We all had a great time at the Whale Centre. The displays were really interesting & interactive. My husband could read all about the early whaling & the kids learnt a heap about sea life. There was digging for fossils, sailing a ship, puzzles & Q&A doors, a 3D underwater film, amazing skeletons & little animals under the microscope. Can definitely spend a couple of hours here. Buy your tickets at the information centre to get a multi pass with the horse-drawn tram.

As I live in the Victor Harbor area I am fortunate to have these wonderful amenities on my doorstep. Sadly Council are not taking Victor seriously and many of the attractions are suffering neglect - however it is still a great place for visitors and the Whale Centre tells the story of the beginnings of Victor as a Whaling port
