Three of us stayed for three nights in Birdwing Cottage in mid-May. Secluded, and surrounded by lush vegetation, this spacious, comfortable, very well-equipped cottage had a deck (with bbq) overlooking remnant rainforest. The slow combustion heater kept us warm in the evening, there was a large spa bath in the bathroom, air-conditioning in the two bedrooms and a washing machine and dryer. Optus mobile phone reception was patchy and there is no Wi-Fi in the cottage. Located within easy walking distance to the village and shops, it is also close to Peterson's Creek where platypus and tortoises can be spotted. We would certainly recommend staying here!

Our family of 4 stayed at Birdwing cottage in April. It is a beautiful cottage perfect for 4 with all you need for a great stay including a well equipped kitchen and laundry and a great deck to sit on and look over the bushland. There is a walking track down to the creek which has a walking path and places to spot platypus (which we did) and tree kangaroos (no luck). The chocolates and real coffee were also a nice touch as well. It's a short 5min stroll to the local supermarket and the yungaburra hotel. It's also a great place to sightsee from with Atherton close as well and waterfalls and other attractions. Would thoroughly recommend.

We enjoyed an all-too-short stay at the Bushland Cottages in beautiful Yungaburra. The 2 bedroom Birdwing Cottage was spacious and had a lovely home feel about it. Surrounding bush is scenic and the walk along Petersen's Creek was pretty despite the very dry conditions that the Tablelands are experiencing at the moment. Great place to stay, close to everything, not in the middle of the village but walking distance to pub, restaurants and shops. Delightful.

We loved the location and the short walk to town shops & pub. Beautiful untouched bushland with lovely gardens. Plenty of room and we even had some friends over for dinner one night. Highly recommend for comfort and cleanliness and just lovely to stay in.

The Lodge provided the perfect opportunity to do some lazy birdwatching from the comfort of the lovely outdoor area. Privacy, quietness and magnificent bush surrounds with the native plants in full flower, it was a honeyeaters smorgasbord at the Lodge! It was so very relaxing in front of the chiminea at night too. A really beautiful place to relax.
