Congratulations to the designers, builders and Winton Shire for the vision of an excellent building, it will certainly create interest and a must see in Western Qld, it was sad to hear the old Centre had burnt down, but something great and beautiful has come from that devastation. Just go and see for yourself, it is beautiful.

Enjoyed going through this centre. New building is beautiful just can’t help but wonder how much they lost in the fire. Audio phones need a little work but it only opened 1wk ago. Staff very friendly.

A bit disappointed with the new centre, it has lost that charm with it being modern. I miss the billabong that welcomed you in the old centre. I was pleased to see that the rest of the buildings were saved and left in their original state. The staff are still very obliging and friendly and commended as to how they had a short time to set up the centre. Wish them all the best in the new centre and look forward to returning in about 12 months time when all is complete. The opening ceremony was great and watched by many people. The town people need to be commended at the hard work to make this possible and keeping the dream alive.

The original attraction was burned down 3 years ago and the new building was officially opened last week. It is superbly designed with excellent displays and features. Out the back are several displays including a steam train, old vehicles and lots of bits and pieces. There is also a pioneer cottage fully furnished.

We went to the opening and were stunned by the beauty of the building and the high standard of the exhibition. The billabong in the centre is amazing telling its different stories and the interactive displays are state of the art. The cafe makes great coffee and the garlic prawns were yummy. Must visit if in the area.
