Close to Daintree River, the rainforest and Port Douglas, not far to Mossman Gorge, you will find Maraes B&B, a piece of paradise with caring and pleasant hosts Pam and John.

In the middle of the calm nature, this wonderful couple will make your dreams of both relaxing and adventurous holidays come true. No matter if you would like to go snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, hiking through the rainforest and watching wild crocodiles in the Daintree River with a professional guide, traveling around Mossman Gorge and the Tablelands or just enjoying the silence at Cape Tribulation following the footsteps of James Cook – Pam and John will help you realizing your plans.

Our hosts took care of us from the very first moment we arrived. We felt at home in this very comfortable and spacious flat. Our days usually started with a delicious breakfast and fresh coffee or delicious tea made by Pam and John while watching wildlife birds in the nearby trees and enjoying the views on the impressive Mossman George.

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay at this wonderful place for three days, which felt way too short. The impact however lasted much longer than that. Thank you Pam and John for making this possible!

Marae... "Elysium", resting place of the Gods, which is exactly what this beautiful retreat feels like. Tucked away in the hills of Mossman, , Marae is surrounded by bushland... Peaceful and quiet, except for the sounds of a multitude of various bird calls but close to the vibrant town of Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge and the Daintree forest. Hosts, Pam and John provide outstanding hospitality, wonderful breakfasts and interesting conversation . They will arrange tours, recommend restaurants and other activities to make your stay more enjoyable. They were recently placed in the top 10 B and Bs in Australia. Thanks for a wonderful stay. I will return.

Where do we even begin? Marae was the perfect choice for our stay in the Port Douglas area. It is close enough to all of the action, but tucked away in beautiful Mossman where the sights and sounds make you feel as though you are in a tropical paradise. And you are! Pam and John were fabulous hosts. They were more than hospitable and happy to help us book activities and recommend local restaurants/sights. They really make it easy, and each day was started with a delicious breakfast among the birds. The home and rooms are lovely. We would recommend Marae to friends and family and would certainly return ourselves.

Simply idyllic. We spent 5 nights at Marae, and could easily have stayed a lifetime! Pam and John are gracious and attentive hosts whose priority is the comfort of their guests. Marae is a haven of peace and tranquillity off the beaten track with easy access to Port Douglas, the Mossman Gorge, Daintree Forest, and the Great Barrier Reef. Highly recommended.

We very much enjoyed our recent stay here for 2 nights. John and Pam are very interesting people and were so hospitable. Breakfast of pancakes and fresh fruit was delightful on the patio. The room is very nice and you have this lovely pool and garden right outside the door. The location is quiet and outside of Port Douglas in the hills.
