This is a beautiful facility right in the middle of the rainforest. The accommodations were top notch as the pictures will illustrate. The meals were delicious and all of the staff were excellent. Very fond memories of our stay.

We had three nights here at the start of the Easter weekend. This place is simply outstanding.

The rooms - private, large, your own balcony with the most comfortable hammock!! Afternoon sleeps were on the agenda.

Walks along the gorge to billabongs in the river and swimming in the most perfect water on earth.

The meals - wow - the food was wonderful. Just wonderful.

It’s not cheap, but well worth the money for one of the most relaxing few days possible.

Silky Oaks Lodge is quiet and peaceful resort in the beautiful green Daintree rainforest. Great place to explore .Taking a bush walk ,seeing the swimming holes and enjoying the wildlife. There is plenty of activities kayaking ,tennis ,gym and snorkeling with the fish or just relax grab a cocktail at the bar and read a book with the sound of the river and wildlife in the background. The food was very scrumptious from both the bar and the restaurant .The staff serviced the room everyday and were very friendly and helpful organizing day trips to attractions nearby .l would highly recommend SILKY OAKS LODGE

Room tip: (Possum) River tree house

Silky Oaks in Mossman offer a courtesy car to and from Port Douglas providing you buy the 3 course dinner.. although pricey we figured it would be worth it with the free travel.

Very nice driver & SUV collected us for the 30 mins journey.

On arrival it was dark and due to lack of signage we accidentally arrived in a corporate buffet set up by mistake... It got our evening off to a slightly odd start, however we were impressed once we reached the open sided timber dining room. nestling right up to the rainforest.. not a mosquito in sight.. how did they do that..?! Very pretty lighting with tons of tea lights.

Unfortunately our waiter was on his first night & was very nervous, dropping a knife skimming past my husbands arm and whisking away our wine glasses when we still had half a bottle left.. the green salad never arrived either. We felt sorry for him, seeing the humorous side - the restaurant has a rather pretentious vibe.

Portions were small and didn’t live up to the menu’s promise. The sommelier’s slightly snooty description of the wine as clever’ didn’t deliver either & was vastly over priced.

The rain began to hammer down and it was only as we were leaving that we discovered that we were sat the side of the Mossman river - what a shame it wasn’t illuminated.

Proceed with caution!

We stopped at silky oaks while traveling with our 9 and 11 year old boys. The lodge suite was great for sleeping and was kept clean. However there were not a lot of activities for the kids and the menu is limited for them as well. We were there two days and three nights.
