Maleny is a charming small town, quaint and picturesque. Who would have thought we would find a superb Indian restaurant? A BYO eatery, we had the goat curry, rice and the best Palak Paneer I have tasted in years. Matched by the superb garlic and cheese naan. Daawat is a culinary gem.

Very tasty food - will be back! Service was excellent and fast. Really enjoyed the meal and the naan was super fresh and crispy!

Fish Madras: OK, sauce had no outstanding flavours. Not great, not bad.

Malai Kofta: croquettes already falling to bits on arrival, resulting in an unappetising pinkish slurry which was also alarmingly sweet for a main course. Excellent choice for the toothless or those with serious dental problems and/or a sugar dependency.

Kashmiri Naan: Overly thick dough, resulting in uncooked paste in the middle. Loaded with sugar, but very little evidence of other promised ingredients (dried fruit, coconut, etc) . Left most of it. A disaster.

Service was good, food very well priced, restaurant has pleasant atmosphere. Visited based on the reviews we read. Perhaps it was the head chef's night off, but these are not difficult dishes to make to a reasonable standard.
I have eaten Indian food extensively all over the world, and made it myself for many years,so I have plenty to compare it with.
Sorry, Daawat, this simply did not measure up on the night.

We were staying in town for a couple of nights and decided on ordering takeaway so we could take it back to the apartment. They have an online ordering system that is quick and easy to use. We ordered, chicken tikka masala, lamb korma and a serving or coconut rice and rotti bread. The flavours of both meals had us drooling and the chicken melted in our mouths. The lamb however was a but dry and hard to chew. Overall happy with our meal and definitely the best cultural restaurant in the area.

Amazing Indian for a great price. Vegetables were fresh and lots of vegetarian/vegan options. Naan were HUGE and wonderfully char grilled. We had takeaway but has a cute inside to dine-in.
