Wow this place is just amazing. Came across it on the way to Sunshine Coast and thought we would check it out. So glad we did and so worth the trip. The views are breathtaking and the place is really well looked after. Didn’t realise how big the place was, definitely need to allow a couple hours!

Fabulous interaction with caged and uncaged birds. Wonderful gardens, great view of Glasshouse Mountains and the Sunshine Coast. Devonshire tea caps off a really good day. Great for children. Not over commercialized, and the drive up into the mountains and back is enchanting.
Do yourself a favour and take your children or just go yourselves and leave the kids with Nana if you are so disposed. You will be so effusive about the visit that Nana will take them the next day.

Absolutely beautiful, lush gardens. Multiple ponds and small waterfalls. Narrow hidden, grassy paths (not the best access for differently abled or wheelchair users - fair warning), stepping stones over water, flowers everywhere. A real boat on a pond the kids loved climbing through, pretending to be pirates. Heaps of tables and seating at plenty of shady gazebos for pre packed lunches, with serene views. The staff were all so pleasant it was *almost* sickening (I kid of course), jut lovely people. The birds and bird aviary tour were excellent value, more than enough birds to go around, plenty of interaction to be had. You won’t get an up close and personal experience with animals like that for cheaper, that’s for sure. And I was much happier knowing that they were all either born in captivity or injured and unable to be released into the wild. So glad we finally got around to it. We will be back.

It is not easy to find, but definitely the most exciting experience around here in Queensland, probably among the most fascinating in Australia. You can come so close to various birds, like in a fairy tale. They touch you, pet you, if you let it, but some even sing an opera. I am not joking! You can have an experience over 400 birds there in the aviary.
Nevertheless, make sure you have at least one or two hours for the beautiful botanic garden, with the most spectacular view on the valley and the volcanic mountains (including glass mountain).
It shows a face of Australia, that not so many people know. Excellent adventure for even a family with smaller children.
It is easy to reach in 30-40 minutes from Sunshine Coast.
I would advise to plan 2-3 hours for the visit, in order to get the full experience.
I highly recommend this place for you.

Fun buggy rides on a beautiful botanic garden is a perfect place to visit with family. You also get to watch with the variety of gorgeous birds and if you are lucky you mat catch one of them to sing. A prefect piece of heaven tucked away in sunshine coast!
