“Good and not so good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2017 via mobile

We visited here as part of Kuranda rail package tour. Indigenous tour/display very good, animal display's not bad, however all geared for overseas market. We did think people doing the photo with koala thing was terrible, poor old koala being jerked and tugged around for a 10 second photo shoot with overseas tourists, very poor decision from operators, probably should not be done as a tourist activity. Duck tour well not good here either had 4 or 5 ducks bumper to bumper, even passing each other at one point to shovel tourists through. Maybe should have gone here not as part of package. Have done alot of tours over the years, so can only say this tour was way over booked, extremely rushed, obviously staff going through the motions shifting people from one place to the next, hurry hurry, come on come on, not agood way to sell a tourist product or destination as this cost quite a reasonable amount of money to see.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Rainforestation. We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed by your visit. Certainly when visiting during the peak tourism season, such as school holidays, Rainforestation can be quite busy, but this is actually no different to other Kuranda attractions, such as Skyrail, Kuranda Scenic Railway, or even Kuranda Village itself.

With regards to our koala photos, we adhere to the regulations set by Biosecurity Queensland requiring that koalas are only held for a maximum of 30 minutes per day, and that they must have every third day off to rest. This does limit the amount of time that koalas can be held for as part of the photo experience. We appreciate your concern for the welfare of our koalas, but I can assure you that our keepers are passionate experts in looking after them, and take the utmost care to ensure that they live happy and content lives.

We do pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service, and we usually receive positive feedback that our staff are friendly and helpful, so I’m sorry to hear you felt they were going through the motions and will address this for staff to be aware of this, particularly on busy days.

“Great outing for families...”

Or couples. Lots of info about various flora in the rain forest. Also you may have your photo taken, for a price, holding a Kola, or a small croc. They also have 'Roos that you may feed; watch cockatoos; see a Wombat, etc. they also provide a DUCK ride on land and water. Tour guides are very knowledgable and relate interesting data as well as telling jokes. Lastly, you can try throwing a boomerang (harder than it looks), watch native spear throwing and listen to digeredoo playing. All in all a most pleasant diversion. Highly recommend it. Enjoy.

“Fantastic day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2017 via mobile

We have been to Rainforestation many times as we are locals. We are never disappointed and always have an enjoyable day. The staff are so friendly and lovely. The kids enjoy the ride on the army duck, throwing a boomerang and the animals. We had a lovely buffet lunch. A great day, well worth the money.

“Not my favorite - but ok for an activitiy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2016

We took Skyrail up to Kuranda and took the Rainforestation tour. It was way too rushed for me. They had you on a schedule, so you got to see the aminals, take the duck boat tour and see the aboriginal things...but you didn't have time on your own at the facility. This was our least favorite thing we did on our trip (not the Skyrail - that was lovely). It would have been better if the time with animals wasn't so rushed and if the Aboriginal show was better - it was a little disappointing. I have seen other shows with native dancing and this just seemed highly average. I would skip this when looking at Skyrail packages.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Rainforestation. We’re sorry to hear you felt your visit was too rushed.

We do have set itineraries for our packages with Skyrail as we need to accommodate for their arrival and departure times. These itineraries run on a schedule to help visitors maximise their time at Rainforestation so they can experience all the different activities in their day. Our coach tour operator sister company, Tropic Wings, also has numerous tour options with varying itineraries and less inclusions. Some of these do allow more time at Rainforestation and in the Wildlife Park if this is what you would have preferred.

It is a shame that you were disappointed by the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience, as it is recognised as one of the best indigenous experiences in the country.
