“Fantastic day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2017 via mobile

We have been to Rainforestation many times as we are locals. We are never disappointed and always have an enjoyable day. The staff are so friendly and lovely. The kids enjoy the ride on the army duck, throwing a boomerang and the animals. We had a lovely buffet lunch. A great day, well worth the money.

“Not my favorite - but ok for an activitiy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2016

We took Skyrail up to Kuranda and took the Rainforestation tour. It was way too rushed for me. They had you on a schedule, so you got to see the aminals, take the duck boat tour and see the aboriginal things...but you didn't have time on your own at the facility. This was our least favorite thing we did on our trip (not the Skyrail - that was lovely). It would have been better if the time with animals wasn't so rushed and if the Aboriginal show was better - it was a little disappointing. I have seen other shows with native dancing and this just seemed highly average. I would skip this when looking at Skyrail packages.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Rainforestation. We’re sorry to hear you felt your visit was too rushed.

We do have set itineraries for our packages with Skyrail as we need to accommodate for their arrival and departure times. These itineraries run on a schedule to help visitors maximise their time at Rainforestation so they can experience all the different activities in their day. Our coach tour operator sister company, Tropic Wings, also has numerous tour options with varying itineraries and less inclusions. Some of these do allow more time at Rainforestation and in the Wildlife Park if this is what you would have preferred.

It is a shame that you were disappointed by the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience, as it is recognised as one of the best indigenous experiences in the country.

“Not worth the time”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 December 2016

We booked a package through a tour company to Kuranda that included the Skyrail and Train and Rainforestation visit. We should have done more research before booking as I would have much rather had time to spend in Kuranda than been herded around Rainforestation for 3 hours.
Upon arrival in Kuranda we were advised to catch the Rainforestation bus. This is when the herding began. We were all given stickers with different numbers and had an outline of an itinerary for our 3 hours at rainforestation. We had to move from activity to activity along this timeline. It was not enjoyable at all. Overly crowded. This seems to be a big tour group destination of choice. I would not recommend spending the time or money to visit.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Rainforestation. We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed by your visit. Certainly when visiting during the peak tourism season, such as school holidays, Rainforestation can be quite busy, but this is actually no different to other Kuranda attractions, such as Skyrail, Kuranda Scenic Railway, or even Kuranda Village itself.

It sounds like the day tour option that you chose was one of the premium tours with the most inclusions. These itineraries run on a schedule to help visitors maximise their time at Rainforestation so they can experience all the different activities in their day. Our coach tour operator sister company, Tropic Wings, has numerous other tours with varying itineraries and less inclusions. Some of these options do allow more time in the Kuranda Village, and less inclusions at Rainforestation, if this is what you would have preferred.

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 December 2016 via mobile

We had a wonderful time with very friendly staff and plenty to see and do. We had a ride through the rainforest in an old WW2 army-duck, got up and close with kangaroos and other native animals, and watched a corroboree and display by local aborigines.

“Kangaroo Dingo and stuff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 December 2016

Nice park . Buy the bag of Kangaroo food. You can fed the kangaroos they come over to you. Ok some are lazy and you have to go to them. The ones that just lay there are the best. You can pat them and fed them great photo op. The dingoes are friendly. I patted them through the fence. Not sure I was supposed to but there was a place on the fence where he has been climbing. He also ate the kangaroo food, he liked it, not sure he was supposed to eat it.They had crocodiles i did not pat or feed. Koalas were there . You can pay for pictures with the koalas. I didn't take the duck tour or watch the show. This was worth the trip other places don't let you touch the animals. oh I also found out you can't touch the staff.
