We recently stayed here as a family of 5 and had the family room. Location was great and the room very comfortable. We used the pool, kids loved the wifi. Easy access to all attractions and of course, that view!

Stayed: September 2017, travelled with family

Very spacious room (no.44) upstairs with views of the river. We sat on our verandah with a beer and enjoyed a lovely far North Queensland sunset. Good location, quiet, walk to restaurants, clubs and pubs but also most offer a courtesy bus. Good linen and towels, friendly staff, this motel had everything we needed. We stayed 3nights from 16/9/17

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room, on the right hand side of reception

Simple comfortable accomodatiins. Nice fridge and hotpot. Spectacular views out front and across the street. Greatest sunset i have ever seen in my life. Not fancy, but i would recommend. Comfortable beds, lots of counter space.

We got two rooms a budget and a balcony. The budget was basic and clean with a terrific views from a shared walkway. The balcony room was amazing ,two queen beds comfortable chairs ,doors open nearly the width of the room onto the balcony .Lovely place to watch the sunset with a glass of red.Road out front can be busy as everyone drives to the marina across the road to see the sunset .Very peaceful after that for a very quite and comfortable sleep.Helpful staff and a pool at just the right tempature.
Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Balcony room

This Motel is overlooking the mouth of the Endeavour River and sea and the view across the lawn is great, however, that cannot be said for the male on the front desk. There is a sign outside stating 'Inspection invited' yet when we asked to look over a 'budget' room the male on Reception was taken aback. After we had seen the room and accepted it at $120 per night, he stated, 'If you don't take this room there are a lot of people in town and all I have left is an 'executive' room at $175 per night and I'm sure you don't want that'. This comment was totally unnecessary and rather offensive.
The room was very clean, however, for a Motel the only amenities it contained was a rather small benchtop with a Microwave, a Jug, a Toaster, 2 small plates, 2 cups, 2 knives, 2 wine glasses, a dish cloth and a tea towel. Below the benchtop was a small Fridge and a rubbish bin. We noticed that there were no cereal bowls and when my husband went and asked for 2, the lady went and got 2 from a locked cupboard and the male commented that they were not normally supplied in Motels. This is the first Motel in the world that I have stayed in that has not supplied cereal bowls or spoons (the latter we had to buy) rather than go back and ask for some. There was no sink or tap and we had to tilt the Jug on it's side and fill it from the Vanity basin and could barely get a third of a jug of water, we also washed the used dishes in the Vanity sink. In my opinion it is the fact that there is so little accommodation in Cooktown that this Motel gets patronage and after the 'Welcoming' we got, I was on the verge of declining to stay there and try elsewhere. So, beware of non-user friendly management.
