The treehouse is amazing to look at and perfect for people who love the outdoors. However, as described on the website it is totally exposed, allowing cockroaches, spiders, ants and moths; common visitors.
The jungle house is a 5 minute walk through the rainforest to the main reception meaning it feels very isolated and there is no phone reception.
We found the staff quite distant. They never told us any information about what to expect in the line of insects, animals etc or general info about the forest. We travelled with 2 large suitcases, which we had to drag through the jungle and up stairs; none of the staff offered to help, although seeing we were having great difficulty.
Overall, it's a unique experience that's not for the faint hearted.
What a delight! But not for those easily scared by spiders and bugs. We loved our stay in the treehouse and can't imagine staying anywhere else in the Daintree. The treehouse has everything you might need with the added bonus of being surrounded by the jungle. We even had cassowaries come say hello while we were showering. What a treat! And not an experience you can get elsewhere. Rob and Aruni are wonderful hosts and will help you with anything you need. Be sure to play the 9 hole mini golf course in the jungle. Rob built the course and did all of the amazing cement work.
One piece of advice: stop at the Wooly's in Mossman for your groceries. The two stores in Cape Tribulation don't offer much and we wish we'd known.
