Haven't been for quite a while and won't be back! $5.00 entry fee per person with access to only 2floors if you require the lift, decided to give it a go anyway only to exit the lift on the first floor to be told to go back down stairs and use the stairs on the other side and tell the staff not to send anyone else up this easy as we have a private function. We viewed a few are pieces of art, very disappointed, not so much that the place is inaccessible but more by the privileged rude attitude of the staff.
A) don't offer something you cannot provide
B) teach staff what hospitality means

Dear Tourist140805,
thank you for getting in touch regarding your recent visit to The Convent. It was unfortunate to read of your experience and we do apologise most sincerely. We have taken note of your concerns, as you did not mention any problems on the day we are unaware which staff member you spoke with. Unfortunately this does make it difficult for us to follow up individually. I can assure you, however, that we do take great pride in giving exceptional customer service here at The Convent, as many of our reviews will show. Please get in touch via phone: 5348 3211 or email: info@theconvent.com.au as we would like to offer you complimentary gallery entry and coffee for two in our Bad Habits cafe. We do hope you visit us again sometime soon as there is so much to love and enjoy about our beautiful & historic gallery.
Kind regards,
Tina Banitska

This restored building is fascinating to wander around and the gardens are very pretty with plenty in flower. The convent has a variety of art works on display and for sale as well as a gallery shop and cafe. There is a lovely area for receptions as well. I enjoyed the art but more particularly the building itself. Areas have been displayed to show life as it was when used as a convent and visitors are able to access all floors via almost hidden staircases which add to the overall experience.(there is a lift as well).
Entry fee gives unlimited return visits for three days which we did take advantage of.
Well with a visit and can easily be combined with a walk around Wombat Hill Gardens and a visit to Cliffy’s. We didn’t try the Convent Cafe but it had a variety of foods available.

Came In for the first time and we both had the ploughman. Very simple but very nice. Had a tea and coffee both excellent. Great gardens to walk around in and some fantastic gift ideas in the shop.

This building, gallery and cafe is well worth a visit. There are many rooms over many levels and its fun to just negotiate and find your way around. There is a chapel, a tower and a basement. each room has a different character and different paintings. We had a lot of fun and even bought some art.

The Convent is an imposong building. Say what you like about the Catholic Church in the old days, they certainly knew how to build. The Presentation Sisters are no longer in residence, but the gallery makes good use of the space they left. The Gallery is certainly impressive. It serves as a local centre for the arts. The Gallery is a "must see" if you are in Daylesford. By the way, the Chapel is an intimate venue for a wedding
