For my Dad's 70th we did a day out on the Bluebell Railway, stopping in East Grinstead for lunch. Dad loves curry so had a look on Trip Advisor to see what was close to the station, open on Sunday and happy to have a little birthday party of 7 for lunch. The Gurhka had good reviews and fit the spec. On arrival we were greeted like old friends and the staff listened to our preference in taste to help us choose something from the menu that we would like. They weren't wrong! The food was delicious, from the veggie dishes like chilli potatoes as a starter, to the Gurhka Special Bhuintakar, chicken in a creamy sauce with pineapple and coriander. We had two veggies at the table and both we delighted with their choices. Those who loved hot stuff had suitably tingling tongues and those who prefer creamy and sweet were equally happy. The only disappointment for all of us is that we don't live close enough to make The Gurhka our local. I have a feeling though that we might find an excuse for another trip to East Grinstead.
