On my second visit to this splendid little museum, I took a mate who is a cricket fan and a member at Lords. To say that he was fascinated by the history of Thomas Lord and the array of cricket memorabilia would be an understatement.

Yet, while cricket is an important part of this museum, there is much more to enjoy as it provides a fascinating glimpse into the history and lifestyle of Thirsk and its inhabitants through time.

Well worth a visit.

A lovely little museum in the birthplace of Thomas Lord the founder of Lord’s cricket ground. As well as some interesting cricket artefacts including a letter from Boycott and a Len Hutton bat there are small rooms displaying everyday life in the past. The museum is well worth a visit. It has no entry fee, however most visitors give a donation

What a wonderful trip into the past! Run by volunteers who were very helpful lovely ladies who had a mine of information. I can't rate this place highly enough and it is free so donations are given freely. Well worth a visit.
