Great food, place, ambiance.
They have a special dog treat menu as well!
Friendly staff, good service and although menu lovely, not too much on offer to confuse, also gives confidence of it being made in house and not bought microwave reheated rubbish.

We have visited the Orange Tree a few times before and had lovely meals so we booked for our family of four for Easter Saturday. We were very disappointed with the food and service. The seafood linguine had only 3 small prawns and was very bland. We waited an hour for our mains and received no apology from the waitress. I mentioned I was disappointed with the linguine and just received a shrug. We didn't order desserts. It's a shame it doesn't appear what it used to be.

We have been to The Orange Tree several times over the last couple of years and have always found the service and meals to be exemplary. So good that we took family there when they visited this Easter. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case on Easter Saturday.
Our table was booked for 8.30pm, we eventually sat down at 9.15 - not starting our main meal till gone 10
We waited in a very crowded bar for over 45 minutes - with drinks glasses piling up around us and the bar.
the starter I ordered was sold out ( although a regular on their menu not a special )
Our guest’s preferred starters weren’t available either
One of the main meals was forgotten ( although they said the delay was because the steak had been over cooked, which seems unlikely as the chips were undercooked with this meal when it eventually arrived) - by this time I had already finished mine.
My husbands dessert choice was sold out.
With the exception of one waiter who had the unpleasant task of apologising to us on numerous occasions ( the delayed meal was gratis and the drink my brother in law had had to get from the bar himself gratis too ) - the other staff were inattentive, we had to go to the bar to get further drinks and even had to ask them to bring our desserts, as they stood chatting.
We left our table at 11 - with the other tables been set up around us.

All in all very disappointing- especially when we had expected so much ( as had our family guests)

We were amazed by the quality of the food. The presentation was like what you would expect in a Michelin starred restaurant. We ordered the crab, pork, scallops and gressingham duck leg for starters and then rolled fillet steak for mains. Both dishes tasted fantastic. This is a must visit if you are in the area.

Had been looking forward to a meal back at The Orange Tree and visited on Easter Sunday mid afternoon.

Ordered a Norfolk roast beef dinner and a beer battered fish of the day. Arrived very (almost too) quickly. The fish was a good size but the bucket of chips contained about 10 chips. The roast was served with roast potatoes, lovely cauliflower cheese, fresh cabbage, Thornham (Yorkshire) pudding and oven roasted veg - basically half a whole carrot and a parsnip neither of which appeared to be very roasted at all. The beef wasn’t as melt in the mouth as I’d expected it was relatively hard work to cut, that may have been down to the cutlery as much as anything though. It wasn’t as tasty as I’d expected and left me feeling rather let down to be honest. We didn’t order puddings.
