Howard and I and Herbie, our dog, had a wonderful few days in this lovely, homely cottage. We were very lucky to have such good weather for October and were able to enjoy a cuppa on the roof terrace with superb views after out walking. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable and we felt relaxed as soon as we walked through the door. The path to the cottage is very steep but after a few times up and down didn't seem so bad, especially after an excellent meal and a glass of wine in the very friendly Farmyard Inn, which we did on the 3 nights we were there! We would love to come back sometime next year.
A lovely well maintained cottage in the lovely village of Youlgreave. Perfect place for exploring the area on foot or by car. The house was just right, with lovely views across Bradford Dale and great walks right from the house.
Excellent value stay and we would happily stay there again Ted our sproodle loved it!
We had a lovely few days in this spacious cottage with gorgeous views. No good for anyone with mobility issues as you cannot get the car very close to the cottage and there is a steep path down to it. Lots to do within a few miles so no need to drive far - we loved Matlock bath (especially the footpaths to Matlock and back albeit very steep!) and Bakewell. Also plenty of walks locally and the Farmyard Inn was a must for a lovely meal with very welcoming staff. Hope to return and no hesitation in recommending.
Spent a week in this lovely cottage with magnificent views. Cottage is cosy and compact. Reached by walking down a steep path so not for anyone with mobility issues. Loved the fact that it was off the road and very peaceful. Stunning walks on the doorstep, though book in the cottage is slightly out of date so bought my own updated copy from excellent village shop. Left Overtake feeling relaxed and refreshed after a peaceful stay, only small criticism is a lack of cooking utensils in the kitchen but this was not a major problem and can be easily rectified.
The cottage was quaint and comfortable, with amazing views. The rooftop garden was an added bonus and was perfect for relaxing, very welcoming neighbours too. Although a steep path /steps down to the River Bradford it was well worth it for the beautiful and peaceful riverside walks with the dogs. The river was crystal clear and the dogs enjoyed running through the shallow waters so much. The village was peaceful yet had all amenities, and very close to the cottage the Farmyard Inn served lovely meals. A small gem in the Derbyshire Peak District.
