The photo belies the charm of this cottage apartment. Being off the road and able to park comfortably was great for a start. Helen and Rod were very welcoming and Helen's homemade scones were a nice touch along with a pint of milk for that all important settling in brew.
While we didn't use it, it was generous to have been offered use of the raised decking area at the back overlooking the fantastic rockery garden. What a great place to be. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the place was clean and tidy. We especially loved the dry stone wall in the living space.
It's just over a mile's walk into Wirksworth and all good exercise and a pub within walking distance in each direction. We had a fantastic few days and would love to return and we'd recommend it to anyone.
