On arriving in Tideswell we popped in for a coffee before looking at the Well dressings. The coffee and toasted fruit bread were spot on and the atmosphere was friendly. It was so nice that after we finished sightseeing we went back to sample the lunch. My salad was delicious as was hubby's Welsh Rarebit with a large salad dressing. An excellent idea was the water in bottles ready to help yourself and glasses such a nice touch as I always need water and usually have to ask for it. The service was quick and friendly. The decor was quaint with church pews and chairs and a good variety of sized tables. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks

Popped into today for late lunch and were treated to fresh, yummy food. The service is so friendly and accommodated us arriving after lunch was closed and my vegetarian needs with any fuss. The Brie tart was lovely and served with a variety of cold salads. Yumm! We left with a box and bags full of scones, cake and goodies which were delicious. We are planning to go for breakfast. Can't wait!

Attracted by the signs for Tideswell's Parish Church as being "the Cathedral of the Peaks", we found High Nelly's almost next door. Only wanting a drink and a small bite to eat (it was only mid-morning), we popped in and were very pleasantly surprised.

As non-cyclists, we didn't notice the various "bike bits" at first, and then I spotted the kiddie's trike hanging in the window. This was quickly followed by a procession of lycra-clad cyclists who, leaving their bikes propped up outside, had bonked, or who wanted to avoid doing so,

Our choice was simple - tea or coffee, and toast. Quickly served, the latter was a treat. With a choice of spreads (jam, marmalade or Marmite from the jar), the fresh toast was made from bread from the local baker, just round the corner, and was delicious.

I only wish we had had the chance to try some of the other dishes on offer, as they looked, or sounded, equally so!

A lovely place for breakfast with quirky cycling themed décor in a quaint village. The café was quiet when we arrived at 9.30 but was nearly full by 10 on a Saturday morning. Popular with cyclists and plenty space outside to park bikes and roadside parking for cars. There is a cash machine across the road. An amazing array of fresh baking greets you as you enter the door. Service was cheery and quick. The spelt coconut and fruit loaf with butter was dusted with icing sugar and definitely more cake than bread and a tasty treat. The full breakfast was faultless on Derbyshire oatcakes. Toast was thick cut and the coffee was strong. We will definitely return

We decided to try somewhere different on our monthly ride out to the Peaks and we stumbled across this place.
Beautiful village.
Beautiful location.
Sin was out so we sat outside.
60 miles in our legs so we were plenty hungry and glad that a tiny exception was made to let us have scrambled eggs and beans on toast even though we'd just missed the breakfast slot.
To be fair everything on the lunch menu looked good too but we needed eggs and beans!
Cakes all looked terrific.
Coffee was good.
Staff really friendly.
Inside looked cool too.
Only one toilet but clean and smart.
All in all a great stop and decent value too!
