lovely with local advice and very approachable. Such a warm and friendly welcome. Everything was clean and comfortable. Hot shower and good mattress. Yes the decor was a bit kitsch and a TV in the room would have been a nice touch but nothing out of the ordinary for a traditional B and B. The food was great with vegetarian sausages available and more than I could finish. A good tea tray in the room with more options including hot chocolate was appreciated. Good location only 20 mins from central Buxton and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Ample parking along the street with a back up option in the pub car park overnight if needed. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Good value for money :)

Room Tip: Call the B and B directly as best rates are direct.

It's the little things that turn a good experience into a great one, like being greeted with a cup of tea after a day in the peak, and real milk for coffee in the guest rooms. John and Joan were so welcoming and friendly which was a delight. Free wifi, a hearty breakfast and to think this was the cheapest B&B in the area, amazing. I couldn't be happier, and just wish i could have stayed longer!

We stayed for just one night as we were going to a party locally.

John and Joan were really friendly and welcoming. Greeting us with a cup of tea and a juice.

The room was comfortable and having a shared bathroom wasn't a problem at all! Little touches like a jug of fresh milk in a guest fridge for making tea in your room made it feel homely.

John played chauffeur and drove us to the party which took the hassle out of finding our own way there.

We both slept like babies on the super king sized bed and breakfast the next morning was spot on! Even catering for my awkwardness!

We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.

I stayed only one night, but had a very nice experience at the Old Post Office. The bed was comfortable and everyone had a great sleep. The owners were friendly and very helpful with suggestions for local food and walking options. Breakfast was excellent and kept everyone full until dinner. It was a perfect stay.
