Lovely coffee and cake and my dog was made welcome. Staff were helpful and friendly. This is now a community pub and there is also a post office included which is very useful.

Very friendly cafe (attached to the pub) great staff with good, fresh food and prompt service. Prices are fair and won't break the bank. Community owned business that deserves to do well and I wish them all their best.
We will certainly call again in the future!

I am all for community enterprises and went to the Rest Cafe in a positive frame of mind. It did not look busy so we ordered. After 25 minutes they served drinks. After 35 minutes we asked if we had been forgotten. Finally, 45 minutes (at least) after ordering, on a day when the waiting staff had time to chat, we got a cheese toastie (made with tasteless cheese) and 2 baked potatoes with luke warm beans (this was not food that needed a lot of preparation).

We paid over £17 for very average food and a long wait. I wish the enterprise well but will not be going back.

We called here for lunch on a bright and sunny but freezing cold day, having heard that there was a community-run cafe attached to the pub. On arriving, the place was buzzing with 20 or so local ladies who get together once a fortnight to knit and chat. There was a very welcoming atmosphere, and a simple menu. Jacket Potato with salad, and an excellent soup and a roll came to just over £7. Good value, and a really enjoyable experience. Congratulations to the locals for saving their pub and post office, and creating a hub for the village.
