Forest How is a fantastic place to stay, beautiful surroundings, amazing wildlife and fabulous food. This part of the lake District is quieter than the central lakes, with more wildlife and a wonderful little railway just a few yards down the lane.

Room Tip: Warm, clean great view.

I couldn't fault Forest How. The setting was so beautiful and the welcome was warm when outside it was literally freezing. Everywhere was clean and the wildlife was fascinating, not just the squirrels but the birds as well. There is a pub close by, the steam railway and lots of good footpaths. I am so looking forward to going back.

Lovely place to stay. Met on arrival and my room was clean and warm. Debbie couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Lots to read and loads of info leaflets are available. The breakfast was wonderful and sets you up for the day. An added bonus was watching the red squirrels in the garden while eating breakfast. Definitely be using Forest How again.

Room Tip: None, it was lovely.

I was only booked in to stop at Forest How Guest House for one night, but would have been extremely happy to be there for a week or more! My room at the top of the house had magnificent views over the surrounding countryside. From my window early in the morning I saw a strange, unknown little creature running over the lawn. The excellent breakfast was served in the conservatory, and I had been asked to choose what items I wanted. There was a good selection of fruits and yoghourt and toast and preserves. The conservatory looked onto the lovely garden with a considerable number of bird feeders very visible. I was absolutely amazed and delighted to see a little creature like I had seen from my window - it was a red squirrel happily browsing through the feed available in the garden, and several more also visited.. A magnificent venue.
