Stayed at the cottage for 3 nights and had a superb time. The cottage is well designed and equiped. It was a great location to visit other areas and lots of local walks. Cartmel is a lovely village.Peace and tranquility were all part of the priorities on this holiday for us at it certainly did deliver

“Fantastic holiday!”

Had a lovely time at this beautiful cottage. Ideally situated for a one mile walk into the village but far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside. Every little detail was taken care of from milk in the fridge and tea bags in the cupboards to the fresh wild flowers on the table and the fleece blankets to wrap up in at night in front of the television. Very warm with the underfloor heating so we had no need for the wood burner but can imagine it will be lovely when the winter sets in. Would highly recommend and definitely return

Had a wonderful three nights in this well equipped cottage just a mile or so from pretty Cartmel but set in peaceful wooded countryside. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and they leave you to get on with your holiday in peace. It worked very well for our party - a couple travelling with a single friend, as there is a bathroom and a shower room and two comfortable bedrooms. One of the best cottages we've stayed in with dogs - they settled in quickly and there are walks from the door. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again in the future.

Liked best: Peace and quiet
Liked least: A little close to owners house. Single beds could do with firmer springs.

“Such a lovely place to stay”

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this lovely cottage (family with two young boys, 8 and 6 years). A good place to base yourself with children. The boys had great fun amusing themselves outdoors, hunting sticks, stones and climbing the mounds surrounding the cottage. The friendly owner, who lives nearby, was very helpful, checking we had everything we needed and offering advice on things to see and do. For us the property's 'green' credentials were very appealing - ground source heat pump, photovoltaics and natural finishes inside and outside the cottage. Easy access to Windermere and Coniston. Lovely strolling distance from Cartmel. A visit to the cheese shop in the village is a must and several pub restaurants to choose from for local beer and good food. It is very likely that we will stay at the cottage again.
