Stayed at Gillbank Cottage with friends and kids and we all had a lovely time. The village of Boot is lovely and we were made up with the cottage and its setting. The cottage is very spacious and well furnished and the gardens are huge. The kids loved it.
There are a couple of pubs in the village, one at the foot of the Cottage's lane which had a lovely beer garden with play area, swings and slide for the kids. The Ravenglass/Eskdale steam railway is in the village which is worth a trip.
It's worth noting that the approach to the cottage is a very steep (20%?) single track lane, which didn't bother us, but the track at the very foot and top of the lane is extremely rough, so secure all false teeth and crowns. I still give it five stars though. Definitely worth a visit.More
