“Nice”
Reviewed 23 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Great, remote location, hidden away within the Lake District. Ideal for a quiet getaway from the city. A beautiful spot with an amazing waterfall nearby. The cottage itself was expensive, but cute, well looked after, and a nice base to have as you plot your adventures.

Management Response
21 Feb 2015
I'm sorry you found our cottage expensive. It is a Grade 2 Listed historic cottage so the purchase and maintenance are expensive, plus your visit over Easter is when prices rise across the holiday sector. It is also best to book for a whole week rather than a short break over the Easter weekend.

“Absolutley Amazing, the best honeymoon a couple could ask for!”

Well what can I say, from the very first email enquiry to Greg and the very prompt and informative reply I knew this was the place to spend our honeymoon. I guess I just had a feeling and it is true what they say that first impressions are lasting.
On arrival at the cottages I couldnt believe how beautiful the cottages were and the valley they are situated in is breathtaking. Hardknott is so quaint, exposed beams and lovely little fire to relax in front of. It is spotlessly clean and the gardens are beautiful and we had our own private picnic area to relax with a bottle of wine. The food in the local inns is very good also and the locals are all very friendly. A special thank you to Bob for being so friendly and welcoming! There are lots of things to do and see close by, I can recommend Wastwater Lake with the outstanding views, ravenglass steam railway that is only 5 minutes walk from the cottage and Muncaster Castle. All in all a fantastic stay and we will definitly be back for our 1st wedding anniversary and I cannot wait. Thanks again!
