Having just returned from a long weekend in this very cosy cottage our party of 4 adults are in total agreement that it's a fabulous find especially in The Lake District where accommodation can be a bit overpriced!
We arrived on Friday 10th February for the coldest weekend of the winter. The cottage was warm and very welcoming and we weren't long making ourselves at home. There are two really good size bedrooms upstairs with very comfortable double beds and downstairs comprises of living/dining room, good size family bathroom and a generous, well equipped kitchen!
The whole cottage is extremely well equipped and you would be hard pushed to find anything that you needed which wasn't provided. There is a safety gate upstairs and child proof covers over sockets making it very child friendly too.
There is free parking directly outside the cottage which is part of a small terrace of houses in a tiny hamlet.
At the end of the terrace there is a Hotel which we had a lovely meal in on Friday night. Whilst its not fine dining, it is however good quality Pub food and prices reflect that. Interior of the Hotels Restaurant is tastefully decorated and had a nice ambience.
The hotel was very convenient if you just wanted to sit in and have a drink, we found the staff very welcoming.
At the rear of the cottage is a lovely landscaped/ decking area which would have been perfect to sit in had it been a different time of year. There is also a gate which takes you out onto the cycle path which is excellent for a nice walk too.
There are some nice views of open countryside and the cottage is ideally situated for exploring The Lake District by car.
Overall a lovely weekend and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely, spotlessly clean, well equipped holiday home and we hope to return in the future.
We stayed as 3 adults, toddler and dog during cold February. The house was warm and cosy and had lots of little extras to help you feel at home such as colouring equipment jigsaws duplo and children's crockery as well as toiletries and tissues. The garden was well presented and has access to a quiet cycle track. There are views of mountains and close to a variety of attractions. Well priced for what you get.
Great cosy cottage! We stayed for a weekend in December when it was pretty cold but the cottage was super warm and toasty.
Well stocked kitchen with everything you need and plenty of crockery. Wifi was strong and reliable throughout the cottage. Plenty of material to read on the surrounding area and easy access to the rest of the Lake District, although we didn’t have time to explore much.
Gorgeous views over the fells and great decking area out the back of the property which would be lovely in the warmer months. The cottage backs on to a cycle track for easy walks and would be great for dog owners.
There’s also plenty of free parking at the property.
Would definitely recommend.
