“It has the wow factor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2012

My husband and I attended a family wedding here and we were impressed from the moment we drove the sweeping road that leads to the impressive entrance to the castle. It definitely has the wow factor and offers the perfect location for a wedding. The backdrop for the photo's is wonderful and there is a chapel in the grounds too. We thought the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I thought our room was quite small and wished that we'd asked for an upgrade, but the room was clean, the bed comfortable and was fine for just one night and somewhere to lay our head. The breakfast was buffet style and offered a fabulous selection of food - full English, a selection of pastries, fruit, yoghurt and a selection of chilled juices. Overall, the castle is steeped in history and the interior is suitably decorated and furnished. If you are one for wildlife then you will love the birds of prey that sit on their perch watching the world go by. A fantastic stay in gorgeous surroundings and we hope to return in the future.

My husband and I got married here and the day was fantastic. Its a beautiful location and the staff were amazing and helped us so much with anything we needed. All our guests were incredibly impressed. We went back again for a meal in their fantastic restaurant and it didnt fail to deliver. A wonderful place which will always remain close to our hearts

Room Tip: chose a room higher up the castle as they are a little quieter

Attending over a weekend for a family wedding and was mightily impressed. I dare say the wedding didn't come cheap but you can see where the money goes.

Fine, secluded location, free valet parking and a very impressive set up greets your arrival. Thanks to the refurbishment following a fire, the entire place looks as though it was built last week - it isn't so old anyway but the sandstone is gleaming inside and out.

I arrived straight from the airport and needed somewhere to change - I had phoned ahead to see if there was a facility but, incredibly, I was given my room - at 11:00 in the morning! The room was superb, and like the whole castle, a mixture of fine tradtion and ultra-hi tech. Our fellow guest were all impressed with their rooms.

The function rooms for the civil ceremony, chapel, dining room and the wine cellar for after-midnight were all outstanding. Every door, hallway, staircase, fireplace, window, nook and cranny were individual and architecturally pleasing.

The staff were excellent and all the dining was exemplary. The most relaxing wedding I have ever attended.

Room Tip: All the rooms are different and the more you pay the bigger and better they get.

This is a comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Food is fine but nothing special. However the more you begin to look at the interiors, the more you feel like you are in a stage set.

The hotel can provide a range of activities such as falconry.

Internet and phone signals are tricky to get.

Our Daughter bought this gift for 2 nights at this Hotel for our Christmas Present.
Wow how amazing it is, extremely relaxing, wonderful staff, and beautiful setting.
We ate at the Castle the first night, and we were blown away with the standard and quality
of the food, the breakfast was also amazing, it was a buffet style and the staff could not have
been more helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, even if they are taking children, It is renowned for the beautiful weddings it holds there, but even if you just want a 2 night relaxing break this is the place to go.
