Not quite as well renovated as other premier inn hotels. The rooms are a reasonable size, but the decor is a little dated. Bed comfortable, staff helpful though, so all in all not too bad a stay. Parking not a problem either.

It is in a good location and the room was clean and comfortable. However we were on the ground floor and as other people have said you could hear noise from room above quite a lot.
We paid for breakfast in the Blue Cap pub next door only on the first day. The buffet was disappointing and the cooked breakfast was very poor (had to be ordered). The mushrooms on my plate were barely cooked, sausages were dry and tasteless. Drinks on the buffet bar were limited.
We bought breakfast from Waitrose in nearby Northwich the other days.
Would stay again but
No complaints about our two night stay. Clean and comfortable. Wished we hadn't booked breakfast in advance as due to changing circumstances we did not have two of the four meals paid for. We shan't book meals in advance againa
Breakfast was a waste of money. No black pudding, bubble and squeak, croissants only in pastry section, only two choice of yoghurts, over cooked poached eggs.Service was slow. Had to ask for fruit juice, despite only six guests in dining room.
Unfortunately this time we were on the ground floor and the people in the room above were very noisy. Could hear them moving about, which woke us when they got into their room and when they got up in the morning
Stayed here a couple of times. Rooms always clean, staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful! The birthday card left for my Mum last weekend was a lovely thoughtful touch by Mary.
Food at the Blue Cap was excellent as was the service. We'll be back! x
