“Lovely cottage set in beautiful countryside”
Reviewed 24 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We spent a fortnight in April 2016 in The Bakery Cottage at West Wratting. We met a very friendly and helpful landlady. The cottage has a special english atmosphere with lovely chosen decor. We instantly felt welcome in the cottage. Bedlinen and towels got changed after a week. Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the lovely and big garden due to the unusual cold weather in April.
We explored Cambridge and many interesting old villages and towns in the area. As there is no public transport, a car is essential.

“Great acccomodation in a peaceful setting”
Reviewed 25 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Our stay at Bakery Cottage was everything we could have asked for. Our family, 4 adults and two children (1yr & 4yr) stayed for just over a week and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The cottage is comfortable, cosy and immaculate. Carol is a lovely host and accommodating. It is a lovely, peaceful spot. A great location to base yourself to explore local villages and yet still close enough to Cambridge. We adored the garden outside, a great place for the kids to run and explore.

“WONDERFUL BREAK”
Reviewed 15 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Absolutely beautiful cottage and spotlessly clean. All the linens were to a very high standard and the beds were superbly comfortable. Carol the proprietor is a very warm and friendly lady. I would certainly recommend a visit to this lovely cottage.

“Just right for us”

We (two grandparents), our daughter and her two children rented The Bakery Cottage on a self-catering basis for Christmas week so we could join up with family in Cambridge. It was just right for us with a ground-floor bedroom close to the main bathroom for the oldies, and two large bedrooms and bathroom upstairs where the kids could be untidy and run around without being a nuisance. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was a pleasant lounge area with a big screen TV for floppng in front of. Carol, the landlady, lives next door and was very helpful. The back of the cottage opens onto a spacious courtyard area with a charming garden beyond, which must be lovely for guests in the warmer months. The village has an award-winning pub, and a mile further up the road is the larger village of Balsham with an excellent locally-sourced butcher and greengrocer, and a Post Office stores as well. A highly recommended gem of a cottage.

“Lovely, clean country cottage, excellent value and extremely helpful host.”

We stayed at The Bakery Cottage with a large group for my sisters 30th birthday. Carol was extremely helpful and even recommended places for us to eat in the local area. The cottage was perfect for what we wanted and she provided a really lovely breakfast in the morning. We felt very well looked after. It is excellent value for money and we really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in a cosy country cottage and I can imagine it is also beautiful in the summer.
