This was our first time in Mahahual, MX. and we couldn't hav stayed in a nicer hotel. We would definitely stay there again. It's near the beach, bars, and restaurants. It was a great way to spend a weekend.

We had 2 very uncomfortable nights....very hard bed, noisy AC, limited water pressure, it took at least 5 minutes for the water in the shower to get hot, wifi very spotty, rain leaked in through the window. The location was good and the staff was friendly and nice, but
Definitely not worth the price.

I was really disappointed in this hotel, from the pictures that we had looked at it, it looked like it was right on the beach. It was actually at the end of a Boulevard and a long ways from anything, such as a bar or restaurant. They do not have their own beach, they do not have breakfast as advertised, they barely have coffee in the morning and that is served out of a dirty coffee pot on a dirty towel using broken cups and miss matched spoons! That is the alleged “free breakfast”

At first we had a premium room and it was so plain and disappointing that I went down to the front desk to see if we could be upgraded to a Superior room they happened to have a room available and took us up there, it was facing the beach and the view was very nice. In our previous “premium room” we had no view of the beach only the dirty side road and a swamp that they call a lagoon!

I would not stay here again with no amenities, no beach, not even any coffee in the morning and with no front desk, it is a tall bench covered in some sort of dirty fabric so they don’t really have a lobby it is not worth the price.

We only got two towels with our room, no washcloth, no hand towels no TV in our room no coffee pot no amenities in the room whatsoever the only perk that we got was a very nice balcony and a great view of the beach on the other side of the street. There’s no elevator you have to walk up all the stairs to get to your room and the stairs are steep and narrow

The front desk young man was extremely nice when we checked in and was doing all he could to help us, he is the one that helped us get the Superior Room if it would not have been for him we would’ve left. Not worth the money when there are other hotels along the same strip that have more to offer such as a restaurant or bar and morning coffee out of a decent coffee cup rather than out of a dirty broken one and a filthy pot.

Went to Mahahual and stayed at El Hotelito for one night. We booked 3 rooms. At first glance all seemed Ok on this small property of 8 or 9 rooms. The front desk service was very good and the rooms seemed clean. Yes it is a hike up some rather steep stairs but we knew that from Trip Advisor and the clerk helped us with our luggage. After discovering the small village as having dinner we all retired to bed thinking that we might stay an extra night. And the next morning our haggard faces told the story of a lousy night for all. In room 7 where I stayed the top sheet of my bed was fine but upon opening the bed I was appalled to see such a disgusting bottom sheet. It was threadbare and full of stains of dubious nature. There was no mattress protector so whatever stained the sheets could easily have been in the mattress.
The floor was gritty from sand or dirt.
In room 8 they had no hot water and gave up waiting for it and took a cold shower.
Below us our colleagues had to request a room change as there was an electrical issue that lights would go on and off without anyone touching the switches.
While the evening desk clerk had been friendly and of good service, the morning chap could not have been more surly.
At this point of course another night there was out of the question so we grabbed our bags and left.
This is the smallest of the 3 Koox hotels in Mahahual and probably the most peaceful. But it is obvious that being the smallest and furthest away it is neglected and in dire need of am overhauk

The hotel is quaint and clean. We had a 4th floor walk up with a great view of the Caribbean Sea but was a little on the small size. We were able to sleep with the windows open with a lovely breeze. The room has air conditioning but we used it very seldom.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view
