“A favorite place for laid back people who want a home on the sea”

Use Loco Gringo to rent--high attention and good recommendation with a local flavor. Don't expect luxury; expect comfort. Absolutely wonderful outdoor spaces; comfortable indoor spaces. The living room and the kitchen in the casita are big enough for a group is it rains at the wrong time; otherwise eating outside is easy and makes for great interaction. Danny cooks well enough to be called a chef; try the Lime Soup with chicken. Alicia keeps things clean and does great laundry service. The pool isn't for laps but it's clean, cool, and is big enough to have a deep end. There are chairs and hammock out near the rocky beach, perfect for contemplation and communing with iguanas. One night we put all the chairs on the volleyball court and just did star gazing. Easy walking to restaurants and snorkeling. Life jackets by pool can save money. Gained 10 years on my life in one week.

Loved the place. Great cook and maid!!! loved the snorkeling near by. Enjoyed the pool. My only complaint is the beach is so rocky. But nice beaches are near by. Especially loved the pico Diego and guacamole on arrival and more during the week! We rented a golf cart and if you are not into walking a ton this was very nice.. also would pile with stuff to bring to the beach!

Thank you for your comments about your stay at Casa Iguana. It is wonderful that you loved the place and that you enjoyed the pool and arrival snacks. Yes, the coastline on the ocean side of the house is rocky with no water entry. This area is easily viewed on our website ad for the property. Casa Iguana is situated between Akumal beach and Half Moon bay beach. These beaches are a short 5 minute walk from Casa Iguana.
We appreciate you staying with us! Muchas gracias!

“Great value for families, small group”

Casa Iguana is in a good location between Half Moon Bay and old Akumal Bay area. It is on a rocky section of the shore that means virtually no one walking by along shore. A short stroll to either bay along narrow road (fresh baked goods for breakfast from Turtle Bay Bakery one direction, happy hour at la Buena Vida the other direction). Really great pool for kids and big enough for adults too. Several nice outdoor "rooms" --- we dined most nights outside at the long table, which is well situated below the pool, out of the wind (it was windy all week). Bernardo is a great cook and what a treat to not have to cook dinner! His sister, Juana, cleaned up after us including laundry! Build $200/week into your budget to tip these wonderful folks. Some of us had some trouble sleeping with the wind rustling in the palm trees (SIGH!). The palapa roof/ceiling in the casita had some residents (geckos we think) which was a little disconcerting. The newer 2 story house had better lighting and beds (one queen and one king that can be separated into 2 twins), and was tucked further back from the street than the single story casita, which consists of a round kitchen(spacious)/sitting room, then a bedroom/bath, and then another bedroom/bath (have to walk through the first bedroom or enter from outside), with a total of 3 double beds and one small twin. Internet worked great. Overall very clean with much charm.
