The huts are full of bugs. One of them stung me in the bathroom. The geckos poop all over. Our hut had a 6 foot long snake skin in the rafters. Something ate our avocados. Mosquitos come in through the holes in the roof. With all the wildlife sharing your hut, you can see why you need a mosquito net.

The huts are poorly cared for. The trash and compost were never emptied in our four days there. The top of the armoire and the tops of the mosquito nets have roof debris and gecko poop all over them. The sheets are thread-bare and dirty. The porch pillow and fabrics have never been cleaned.

The king size bed in our room probably isn't a bed - it is so hard I believe it is a box-spring. Brutally uncomfortable. I ended up putting the love seat cushion from the porch on the bed as a mattress.

To add insult to injury, we booked a room with three beds, but Leon decided to switch us to one with only two (a queen in addition to the king). That's a little tight for a family of four.

All this for $90? We had beautiful accommodations in Merida, Campeche, Uxmal, and Valladolid for much less and breakfast included. Organic Yoga was a terrible value.

Organic Yoga (OY) was a very nice getaway, well off the beaten track. Leon was a very accommodating host and his staff were a pleasure to interact with. OY was a little difficult to find initially (because the rental car's GPS accuracy was slightly off), but there are signs, if you know where to look. A benefit of OY is that it has a communal kitchen and place to eat. This means you don't have to eat out all the time (and therefore can lower your expenses).

As mentioned above, my wife and I rented car from Cancun and we would say this is a must for you to get to OY, although Leon did provide us with clear instructions on how to catch the bus from Cancun airport and where to get off etc. Moreover, to do activities in Akumal, Tulum, or Cancun you really need a car to be able to get from OY to wherever you are going. Overall, OY was a beautiful escape Mayan jungle and we would enthusiastically recommend staying there.

First, this place was a bit hard to find. The directions on the website were not that easy to follow and Google Maps tells you to turn on a logging road that is NOT the right road! The signage at the right dirt road to turn on is small and easy to miss. There is nothing nearby for dinner and no food available at the lodge so DO bring your own food for dinner or plan on going out and trying to find your way back potentially in the dark. The room itself was nice, it is clearly very relaxed. Wi-fi was available. Overall it's nice and quiet once you get settled.

I stayed at Organic Yoga for 3 nights during the low season and ended up having the community room all to myself as the only guest at the time! Leon is a wonderful host and checked up on me after I came down with food poisoning during my stay - he is accessible and available for any questions about the surrounding area and things to do/see. Morning yoga with Leon was a nice way to start the day. The cottages all have lovely screened porches with hammocks and I really enjoyed being able to enjoy the sounds of nature with some protection from the mosquitoes. The shower water pressure is great (for those that appreciate a strong shower) and there is a full kitchen for guests to use to cook and prepare food should you choose to do so. Organic Yoga is a 15 minute walk from Highway 307 and the collectivos run frequently so transportation is easy.

Our group of 5 girls stayed here for 2 nights. Leon was a fantastic host- super friendly and answered any questions we had with suggestions for the best travel options and top spots to visit. He was very accommodating with his yoga classes and held them for both mornings we were there. Fresh fruit & bread was provided. It would be a good idea to take food to cook in he fully equipped kitchen otherwise the store in just a short drive away. The location was beautiful, quiet and only a 15peso shuttle right to Akumal beach. We would love to stay here again. Thank you Leon :)
